I think I'm frozen.
For some reason I couldn't find the willpower to move.
That reason is in this little piece of paper.
"Natalia, darling are you ok?" Gran asked with concern.
I woke up from my little trance and replied, "Yes. This is just so... out of the blue. I don't know what to think of it."
The letter explained that I had been accepted to the Acrylic Boarding school in Hawaii. Living in California, I'm used to that sort of weather and such.
Never said I liked it.
"Am I going, Gran?"
"I think its a good idea Natalia," Gran said thoughtfully, "you wont get many once in a lifetime chances like this. I want you too go for it. Maybe you can meet new friends. Plus I'm sure they'd let you visit me often." How could she stay so calm??? Inside, I was screaming, smiling, laughing, and crying; all at the same time.
"I don't know Gran... I'd hate the weather, I'd be a freak among them, and boats make me sick," I grumbled the last part remembering the last time I had been on a boat.
Gran had taken me on a whale watch for my birthday and something really weird happened.
I had gotten pulled into some sort of trance. I felt like the water was calling out to me. It was weird.
I saw the hopeful look on Gran's face and I knew, I had to go.
"Fine Gran, you win; I'll go."
