February 28
How did I find myself here again?
In a flying hunk of metal that could crash at any minute? This was officially the second time, and I am hating it more that you could ever know.
My knuckles started turning even more white than my skin already was. The volume on my iPod was turned up all the way, because I was desperately trying to drown out the horrible sound of the airplane flying through the sky.
I felt a hand squeeze mine, and I looked up to see Ryan's warm smile. My lips tugged into a smile in return. How can he always make me smile? No matter what.
I don't think I will ever know.
The plane started to dip into the air, my stomach jumping into my throat. I shut my eyes tight.
When I felt something warm touch my cheek, my eyes shot open again, only to find Ryan softly kissing my cheek. I blushed, "Ryan, what do you think you're doing?"
"Kissing your cheek," he murmured against my skin and I chuckled.
"Well I'm gonna try to get some sleep Ry, goodnight." I shut my eyes and rested my head on my shoulder, inhaling his scent like a drug.
" 'Night Talia."

"I'm nervous," Rhea admitted, taking her jacket off under the hot Arizona sun. Madame Icianic thought it would be best to do the training far, and Arizona seemed to be one of the cheepest flights. I guess she just HAD to pick another burning hot place for us to stay.
Greatttt. Note the sarcasm.
However, blondie over here was insanely excited about this whole shindig. The whole car ride from her spot in the driver's seat was 'I love this weather!' 'Non stop sun!!!' 'Better get out those sunglasses' 'Maybe you could get a tan for once Talia. You're so pale.'
I had rolled my eyes at the last comment, of course I was pale. I was the Moon Child for God's sake! I think that part came as part of the deal.
"I'm not," Matthew grinned. "It's gonna be cool telling these adults what to do."
Jonah nodded, "Ya, those people we've been emailing sound fun to control. Isn't it funny how a lot of them already know each other? Accept the nomads of course."
"I know! There's probably some yearly convention for the top one hundred most powerful. Our world completely worships the gifted, it's insane. These guys are probably all stuck up middle-aged freaks who won't do a word we say," Matthew replied.
I shrugged, "They seemed ok to me."
We soon pulled up to what looked like an abandoned summer camp. There were small cottages around in a circle, surrounding an open field with a huge fire pit in the middle. A small pond was about half a mile away, glistening in the sunlight. There were hardly any lush greens, but cacti surrounded the whole place. Except the area in the middle of the cottages. I could see animals playing everywhere, even though most were camouflaged so well that no human would be able to see them.
Sitting on logs around the fire pit were fifteen KIDS. Their ages seemed to range from 12 to 22. My jaw dropped, and so did everyone Else's.
"Did we get the wrong group?" Ryan whispered to Matthew. Matthew shook his head slowly.
"Well," Rhea said, advancing towards the group, "Let's go meet them."
We all cautiously followed Rhea towards the fire pit. When we came near, all their heads turned one by one, each face showing a different expression. Fear, agony, boredom, amusement, annoyance, awe, sadness, loneliness, happiness, were all written across each and every one of their faces.
