"Rhea!" Ashton squealed and embraced Rhea in a bone-crushing bear hug.
"Can't... Breathe..." Rhea managed to choke out after dropping her bags.
Ashton retaliated and looked at her sheepishly, "Sorry R, I always forget how strong I am."
I rolled my eyes, "I bet I'm faster than you are strong."
"You're on!" Ashton shot back, shooting a playful glare in my direction.
Rhea chuckled and put one arm around each of our shoulders and I picked up her bags. It was great to have her back.

"Geez this place is huge! Am I sharing this room with an army or something?" Rhea asked playfully.
Ashton rolled her eyes, "No. It's not nearly as big as mine."
I sat on the bed in Rhea's guest room and pulled out my new iPhone 4 that Ashton's father gave me. I refused politely, but he insisted, claiming he didn't want me getting lost in the woods. I had been going out every day to practice since I'd been here. Yesterday I came across a man walking in the forest. Apparently he was lost so I showed him back to town, causing me to come home late. Ashton's family had been going mad with worry and were about two minutes from calling the police.
That's how I ended up with a cell phone that was smarter than I was.
I searched Jacob Lee for the fiftieth time on the internet, trying to gain as much information as I could. I needed to be prepared on the equinox. The name Jacob Lee had stuck me as familiar though. I don't know where from, but it felt as if I had met him before. Hence why I was freaking out about finding information about him.
Ashton looked over my shoulder and clicked her tounge, "Natalia, don't worry. It's all going to be fine. That's the tenth time you've searched his name. Humans wont know anything about him anyway. Just relax. We are going to figure out the army thing today anyway. Tomorrow's Christmas so give it a rest after today ok? We'll talk to the Council, then you drop it until we get back to School. Got it?"
I sighed and looked up at the two of them. There really was no point in arguing. They had a valid point. "Got it."
Just then, my phone rang, causing me to jump with fright. The number was unknown, so I turned to my friends, "Should I answer it?"
Rhea nodded, "It could be important."
I pressed answer and held the cold metal of my phone to my ear, "Hello?"
"Natalia Goldsworth?" a young woman asked on the other line. I didn't recongnize the voice.
"Yes? Who is this?"
"This is Cindy from Stanfield Hospital for the Gifted," the woman replied. I could tell by her voice that something was wrong.
"What's going on?" I asked urgently.
"Headmistress Lawrence has told me to inform the sun, moon and star child that there has been another assalt against the Gifted world. Your friend Matthew was attacked at his house, and the evil soilders killed both his parents. Our forces rescued him, but he recieved a blow that has blinded him perminatly," Cindy said, still completely emotionless.
Matthew? How could this happen? He was such a good soul. Why him? Why not me? I deserve it way more than he does. Now he is broken, for good.
"I can tell there is something else Cindy," I croaked, my voice become more ragged from my urge to sob. Matthew was one of my best friends. Now it's my fault he got hurt.
