The Not so Tall Tale of Regina and Xavier

Regina punched the tree hard, making the whole trunk shake from the impact of her small, tan fist. She punched again and again, and then sent a round house kick at it, sending a bunch of hard sand at it. The tree cracked and heaved, but ended up beginning to fall. It was a small tree, since they were in the desert of Arizona, but it was one of the bigger ones.

"TIMBER!" Regina yelled as it came crashing down, not caring too much if anyone got hurt. These people had forced her out of her home for this. Her life that was practically a non-stop party, was put to an end.

"Don't hit me!" a voice chuckled from behind her. Regina whizzed around, to see Xavier standing in the sand, smiling at her.

Regina glared at him, upset at the interuption, "What to you want?"

Xavier shrugged, "Nothing. Why are out here, training has begun."

"Like I'd go to training," she scoffed.

"You should."

"Why?"

"Because you should."

"WHY?" she was getting annoyed.Xavier sighed, clearly annoyed as well. "Because you're acting like a spoiled brat."

Regina's eyes flared. "Excuse me?" she barked.

"Your acting like a brat. You think you're better than everyone else but you aren't. You treat everyone like dirt and you don't even care! We've all lost something! It's not all about you! Caleb is 12, lost his parents, and still keeps a smile on his face but you, you are 20, you have your parents, and your just upset because you have to do something for someone else," Xavier spat, his eyes stabbing into her very soul.

She stiffened under his gaze. Maybe he was right. Did she act like that? "Why do you even care?"

Xavier smiled, "Because I think you'd be amazing, if you showed the real you. I think I would have fallen for you. Now, let's go back to training." He turned on his heel and walked away from her calmly, leaving her awe struck.

Regina quickly recovered, blushed, and hurried after him like a teenage school girl.

The not so Tall Tale of Jane and Ray

"Where do you think you're going?" Ray growled, racing through the water after the fish that got away. "I'm not through with you yet!"

Jane laughed beside her, "Don't worry Ray, we'll catch another one." Ray frowned and walked back to their towels, drying herself off.

"Why did you leave Jane?" Ray asked sadly.

Jane sighed, "I knew you were going to ask me that."

When she didn't say anything more, Ray spoke, "Well?"

"I thought you were dead, Ray. When the evil came, I thought you were dead. So, I left. But now, I'm here, so it doens't matter." Jane tried to pull her into a hug, but Ray resisted.

"It does matter. You left me," tears stung in Ray's eyes, but she turned away quickly so Jane couldn't see how much it was hurting her.

"I know, and I'm sorry," Jane whispered, "I know it isn't enough but I am. If I knew you were alive, I would have come for you."
