Two weeks have gone by since my arrival here at Acrylic Boarding school.
Headmistress Lawrence gave Ashton, Rhea and I necklaces that she said were 'built hundreds of years ago when the prophecy of us arriving on this planet was created'. She said that it had been made especially for us from rare stones that could help us channel our power. If any other gifted being tried to use it for their own power, they would be killed instantaneously. Ashton's was shaped like a sun and had a stone that was a bright amber. Rhea's was shaped like two stars diagonal from each other, one star had a stone that was a milky white and the other star had a stone that was black, but shiny. It sounds boring, but the necklace was gorgeous. My necklace was in the shape of a moon and had a very, very light blue stone. All three fit us perfectly. Headmistress told us never to let them get into the wrong hands. If someone gets all three necklaces together, they would have the power to defeat us and take over the world.
I've also managed to go out of my comfort zone... A little. I've interacted with Cameron, Matthew, Rick, Ryan and Bridget. Oh and Sir Andrews. No one else though. People keep coming up and trying to talk to me but thankfully Ashton and Rhea quickly get rid of them for me. Sometimes they talk to the people, but if the person tries to interact with me, they quickly direct the attention away. They seemed to realize how different this was for me already and are trying to let me ease into it on my own. And not let random, desperate, annoying boys try and hit on me. Or piss me off. Or both.
Like on Tuesday:
The three of us were walking back to our room after getting some stuff for breakfast the next morning. It was around seven so we were still allowed to walk around the school grounds before curfew for another hour and a half.
As we walked back through the halls, we bumped into Ryan being tormented by a ton of jocks. The leader, was knocking the books out of his hands. He punched Ryan, causing him to fall to the flooron top of his scattered books and papers. My anger began to build at the sight of seeing him so helpless.
"C'mon weakling, fight back. Oh wait, you can't. You'd rather spend your time with your head in a book then actually building some muscle. Why do you even bother with a girl like Natalia?" the leader sneered, "We all can see how hard you try; with no avail. She'll never notice you."
At that point, my fury reached it's boiling point and I stormed over and shoved the jock away from Ryan. Being me, I didn't say anything, but my deathly stare spoke for me. Rhea and Ashton were on the floor helping him clean up his books while I stood in front of Ryan protectively. I looked up at the pest who managed to piss me off enough to make a scene. Luckily, no one was around this part of the building so no one would see if I decided to actually talk to someone.
When I pushed him away, the boy looked down at me, shocked A) that I was that strong B) that I was there at all and C) that I was standing up for Ryan. Now I fully understood all the strange looks from Ryan, and the smirks from Ashton, Rhea, Cameron and the rest of the group. Ryan had feelings for me. But whether I had feelings for him in return was none of this virus's business. He had no reason to tease Ryan for that.
He finally managed to wipe the shock off his face and looked around at his brainless jock friends. When he looked back at me, he had a smirk on his face that made him look like he was having some weird spasm.
"Hey there Natalia. How are you on this fine evening?" He looked at me and gave me a flirty smile, "I don't think we've fully met. I'm Jullian. Football quarterback, most popular boy here at Acrylic, and also I'm a gifted student; an Earth gifted student."
I glared at Jullian, "You better not have called Ryan what I think you did." I tried to talk normally but I had to talk through gritted teeth to keep myself from lunging at his throat.
