A Month Later

Kendall's POV

I looked at Dakota laying on the blanket. She looked at me and I chuckled, picking her up. "Hey princess." She smiled.

"Aw." I looked at Jayden. I smiled and got up. "Daddy's trying to spoil you." She took the two month old from my arms. "And she's hungry." I watched Dakota pulling at Jayden's shirt. "Can you give me a bottle?" I looked in her bag and looked for one.

"There isn't one in here love." I looked at her.

"Fuck."

"Calm down. I think I have one of her other ones." I ran downstairs and looked in the cupboard. I grabbed her bottle. I heard crying.

"I think I have some milk in the fridge can you heat it up please?" I looked and poured some of the milk in the bottle and put it in the microwave. I took it out and ran back upstairs, putting the nipple on the bottle. "Thank you." She gave the bottle to Dakota and sat on my bed. I sat beside her.

"So now that your a big time music artist and a mother, what are you doing for school?" She looked at me.

"Nothing I guess." She shrugged. Dakota looked up at her. "When I'm not making music, I'm just going to stay at home and take care of my little girl." She smiled down at the infant. Dakota finished the bottle and Jayden laid her on the blanket on her stomach.

"Babygirl-"

"I know. My arm gets tired when I burp her on my shoulder so I do it this way." I nodded. She burped Dakota and picked her up. "Hi babygirl." She smiled. I chuckled.

"When did you get her ears pierced?" I looked at her playing with the baby.

"A few weeks before the album release party last month." I nodded. "I got her ears pierced and I got a new tattoo."

"Where?" She stood up and lifted her shirt. I looked at Dakota's name tattooed on my girlfriend's hip. I smiled. "She has my last name?"

"You are her father." She smiled.

"No I'm not." I looked at her.

"Maybe not biologically but you're the only guy that she'll know as her father." I smiled. I looked at her gently combing Dakota's thin curly hair. Dakota's eyes fluttered, fading in and out of consciousness before she fell asleep.

I woke up and walked downstairs. Jayden was sitting on the couch with Dakota laying on her chest asleep. "Hi." She looked up at me. Dakota squirmed and settled back on her chest.

Jayden's POV

I looked down at Dakota. "She's awake." She looked at me. "She's been awake." I smiled. I sat her in my lap and she fell on my chest. I pulled my shirt out of her hand.

"How long have you been up?" Kendall sat beside me.

"I never went to sleep. You and your daughter went to sleep. I was combing her hair and she went to sleep and I ran my fingers through your hair and you went to sleep so I laid her in the crib and came down here."

"And how did she get down here?" He took Dakota and kissed her head. She looked up at him and reached for his face. "Ow!" He pulled her hand off his face, her laughing.

"When she woke up, I brought her down here." I smiled. She coughed and threw up. "Uh," I ran to his room and grabbed her baby bag. I ran back and sat down. I grabbed some baby wipes and wiped Dakota's face and hands. Kendall took off her shirt and laid her in his lap. I gave him a baby wipe and he chuckled.

"Thanks babe." I smiled.

"Okay babygirl." I picked up Dakota. "Bath time." I walked to Kendall's room. I grabbed her tub and walked back down. Kendall came back with water. He poured the water in the tub and I took off Dakota's diaper. I put her in the tub. She splashed around and I looked in her bag.

"Looking for these?" I looked at Kendall, holding the shampoo and soap. I smiled. I took the soap and bathed her. I rinsed her off and washed her hair. She looked at the soap suds floating in the water and poked a bubble. I finished and wrapped her in a towel. Kendall took the tub to throw out the water. "Oh. Hi Jayden." I looked up at Kendall's mom. "What are you up to?"

"Hi." I finished drying the infant. "I just finished bathing Dakota." I put a clean diaper on her and smiled.

"I have something for you." I looked at her. She smiled and went upstairs. I looked back at Dakota. I grabbed the bottle of baby lotion from her bag. I put some on her and poked her stomach. She smiled, grabbing my finger. Mrs. Taylor sat beside me. "I meant to give it to you the other day but I forgot to pick it up from the jewelers." She gave me a little gift bag. Kendall came back and sat on the other side of me, taking Dakota.

"Thank you." I smiled and hugged her. She walked upstairs.

"Mommy didn't pack any extra shirts for you princess. And you threw up on mine." He tickled her, her laughter ringing in my ears. "So you and daddy are going to walk around shirtless." He chuckled.

"I have extra shirts, I just didn't put one on her." I smiled. I opened the bag and pulled out the three jewelry boxes. I opened one and looked at the diamond ring. It had a single diamond in the center and in the band was engraved Dakota Kayden Taylor. I smiled. I opened the second one and took out the necklace. It had a 'D' charm on a small chain. "Look." Kendall looked at me. "Your mom bought her a necklace."

"It's cute." He chuckled. He kept playing with her. I opened the last one and looked at the ring. It was a simple band with my name engraved in it. I looked inside to see Dakota's name.

"One for you, one for my little babygirl, and one for me." I smiled.
