Jayden's POV
I sat on the couch with my one year old daughter in my lap. "Please babygirl go to sleep." She shook her head.
"Daddy." I sighed.
"Daddy's not here sweetheart." She looked at me, tears filling her eyes. They changed from a bright blue to a dark grey. "Please don't cry." I was tired, Kendall was at University of London in class, and Dakota wouldn't let me sleep. She would cry every few minutes due to the fact she was teething and Kendall wasn't home.
She started crying and I got up. I sat her on the counter and grabbed a freeze pop from the freezer. I opened it and gave it to her. She put it in her mouth and I laid my head on the counter. I heard a soft splat followed by cries. I quickly cleaned up the frozen treat and filled a cup with crushed ice. I put a piece in her mouth and she stopped.
"Jay?" I picked up the cup and my child, walking in the living room. "Hey. Are you okay?" He put his keys down and took Dakota.
"I'm tired. She's been crying the whole time since you left." I sat on the couch.
"Go to sleep babygirl. I got it." I smiled. He gave me a quick kiss and I gave him the cup of ice.
"Give her a piece when she finishes that one. It soothes her gums." He nodded. "Goodnight."
"Momma." She started crying. I sighed and sat back down.
"Mommy needs to go get some rest princess." He kissed her head. She reached in the cup, putting a piece of ice in her mouth.
"It's okay Kendall. I'll be fine." He looked at me.
"Are you sure?" I nodded. She crawled in my lap and smiled at me.
"Now will you go to sleep sweetie?" She nodded. Kendall looked at me. "In your room?" She shook her head, reaching for the cup. Kendall gave her another piece of ice. We got up and walked to our room. She started whining and I looked at her. "What's wrong?" She laid on my shoulder.
Kendall took her while I changed from my jeans into a pair of leggings and pulled a sweater on over my crop top. I heard my baby cough and then giggle. "Fuck." I looked at them. Dakota had thrown up on him. "You enjoy throwing up on me huh?" He chuckled. He undressed her, putting her dirty clothes in the hamper in our room. I gave him a wipe and he cleaned her up, laying her on the bed. He wiped his t-shirt off before pulling it over his head and putting it in the hamper.
"The medicine I'm supposed to give her for her gums probably irritated her stomach." I picked her up, laying on the bed. I put her between us and rubbed her back. She grabbed my finger, putting my hand on her head. I smiled, playing with her curls. Her eyes fluttered, her thumb in her mouth. "I love you Dakota." I whispered. She faded out of consciousness, falling asleep.
"So how about that son?" I looked at Kendall and smiled.
"Let's wait until marriage." His eyebrow rose.
"Who said I want to marry you?" He smirked.
"You did. Plus you're living in my house and raising my child." I put emphasis on 'my' each time. "So if you don't want to marry me then," I looked down at my sleeping infant before I looked back at him. "Bye."
"Touchè." There was a knock on the door downstairs. "I got it." He got up. I heard muffled conversation. Kendall walked back in. "Goodnight." He pecked my lips and kissed Dakota's cheek.
"Who was it?" He wrapped an arm around me and Dakota. "Seriously Kendall, who was it?"
"You will find out in the morning. You need sleep." I sighed, letting sleep consume me.
I felt a tickle on my cheek and woke up. I smiled at Dakota. "Let's go find daddy." She nodded.
"Ottie." I looked at her and got up. I picked her up, walking downstairs. Jaylen was asleep on my couch. "Ottie?"
"She's sleeping. You want to lay with her?" She nodded and laid her beside my sister.
"Good morning cutie." She smiled down at my daughter. "Sorry Jay."
"It's okay. Is something wrong?" She shook her head, letting Dakota play with her hair. I gave her a comb and sat beside them. "You're lying."
"I am. But I promise, I'll be fine and out of your house later today." I shook my head.
"You're staying here again tonight. And we're talking about this later." I picked up Dakota and put her on the floor. She ran to kitchen giggling.
"Daddy!" I smiled, grabbing my sister's hand. She smiled at me and got up. I got up and followed her in the kitchen. Kendall was playing with the half naked infant. I walked upstairs and grabbed an outfit for her. I went back downstairs and Kendall put another plate on the table.
"Just two?" He nodded.
"I'm not really hungry." I looked at my sister. I gave her mine and slid closer to Kendall. "Jay-"
"Eat." I looked at her. She sighed and ate. I shared with Kendall occasionally giving small pieces to Dakota.
"Momma." I looked at her. She pointed to her mouth. I gave her a piece of fruit and she shook her head.
"Okay." I filled a cup with ice and gave it to her she put a piece in her mouth. "Come on." I picked her up, carrying her upstairs. I walked in the bathroom and put her in the tub. I started running water and grabbed the soap. I gave her a bath and took her to her room. I dressed her and went to my room, grabbing the gel and hair ties. I walked back and sat on the floor, with her in my lap. She squirmed in my lap, whining. "Kendall!" He walked in and gave me the cup. "Look at daddy."
"Hey princess." He sat in front of us. "How about some ice cream when mommy finishes?" She smiled. I pulled her hair back into a ponytail. "What shoes?" He held up the two pairs of shoes I had laid out.
"The boots." She had on a little dress and Timberland boots. He took her, putting the shoes on her feet. I put a headband on her that looked like a bandana. "Little cutie. I'm going to go shower."
I walked to my room and picked an outfit similar to Dakota's. I picked out a white skater dress, a denim vest, and my Timberland boots. I walked in the bathroom and turned on the shower. I stepped in. Kendall stepped in behind me. "Now back to the conversation from last night."
"I don't know what you're talking about." I played clueless. "What conversation?"
"You know exactly what conversation." He turned me so I was facing him. "And I've been thinking about what you said."
"About waiting before I get pregnant again?" He shook his head.
"About us, uh, getting married and me h-helping you raise Dakota." He looked down. He was tongue tied.
"Kendall?" He looked at me. "I don't want to rush you or scare you or anything but I love you and I really do want to marry you one day. And when we go on our honeymoon, you can give me that son we both really want." His eyes scanned my face, a smile spreading across his face.
"I love you too." He pecked my lips.
