A Second Chance

The end!!

"The end? What does he mean the end?" I screamed.

"Exactly what he said little human." The fire fairy once laughed. "Looks like your little wolf friend species is going to be wiped out!"

My body began to shake as tears fell from my face. No, it cant be. I couldn't even imagine Ayyan dead.

"Hey shut it, Ray! I beat you butt once, I will happily do it again. How can you be so insensitive?" Nathaniel hissed.

"You talk to me about being insensitive? While you protect the main reason for the destruction itself?"

"Why you-" Nathanael started but I cut him off.

"Dont you think I all ready feel guilty about that! I never wanted there whole species to be wiped out. I didnt even ask to be friends with the one who wants to kill the man. Who is meant to be my soul mate! But it happened, and I can promise you this I will make sure I fix my mistakes."

Nathaniel looked at me proudly then turned back to the elders.

"We have to help them! We cant just sit by while an entire species it killed off! That is not the fairy way."

"Nor, do we put ourselves in the middle of fights that have noting to do with us." Said the earth fairy calmly.

"Father!" Nathanael cried to the light fairy.

He simply raised his hand and everyone was quite.

"The council will consider your request then get back to you. For now give us some privacy."

"But dad!"

"Now son! Before I decide just dismiss your request right now!"

"But-"

"Now!"

Both Nathanael and i walked out of the room with our head down. As we stood outside the sound proof door, my head wouldnt stop running with what could happen if the fairies dont help. If they really have this weapon, the wolves will need all the help they can get! I didnt know how long we were standing there for.

"Dont worry Rose. I am sure that they will agree to help."

"But what if they dont?"

Nathanael just looked at me with pain in his eyes. He was about to say something when the door opened and we were told they had made there choice. We walked back into the room, and everything was exactly the same. But Nathanael's father was standing looking at us with grim faces.

"We have talked about the pros and cons of your request. Then we voted. I regret to inform you that we have found it too dangerous for our kind to step in and have rejected your request."

"But father!"

"That is the final say in the matter! We deeply regret the loss that will happen. But i will not put my people at risk! If you want to be king someday you need to learn this as well. You have to put the fate of your kingdom over your own feelings.  Council dismissed!"

With that all of the elders left the room leaving the king, Nathanael, and i standing silently in shock. What were we going to do now?

"Father how could you?" Nathanael cried.

"I had no choice. The vote was against your side."

"Since when did you care about the vote? You are the king! You can over rule them if you wanted to!"

"Nathanael, I have heard enough about this. I think it is time for you and your friend to leave."

Without a word Nathanael stormed out and i quickly followed him. We stayed silent until we came to the Forrest again. The way back was much easier.

"So, i guess this is goodbye." i whispered.

"What?" Nathanael said shocked. "What are you talking about?"

"I have no choice i have to warn Ayyan about the weapon! It is my fault that he is in this mess. This is the least i can do. if i survive i hope we meet again."

"You dont think i am just going to let you go by yourself do you?"

I looked at him. "But your father!"

"Said he cant help. Nothing about me."

"But you will be going against your fathers orders!"

He just laughed. "I dont know if you noticed but i dont really follow his orders. Now lets go! We have a long way to warn you lover boy about this weapon."

"He's not my lover boy!" i cried as he began running ahead. "Hey get back here!"

I began to chase him down.
