"Lauren!" Bruno exclaimed dragging his things into the house hearing Geronimo run toward him.
"Whaaattt?" she whined struggling to get up from the chair where she was sitting. Eww. My feet. She thought to herself.
"Get your shoes, babe. We're going out." He told her with a smile.
"Can you at least put your bag in the bedroom before you whisk me away somewhere?" she asked him a bit frustrated. He didn't answer her rolling his eyes underneath his hat dragging his things into the room. He bent down picking up a pair of her shoes knowing that she wouldn't have her shoes on.
"Do we have to go?" she moaned throwing herself on the floor holding Gigi.
"Yes. We have to go. You'll love it." He smiled from above her trying to decide if he was going to just help her get up or if he was going to kiss her. Maybe both. He decided holding out his hands for her. "Come on, mama." She groaned jokingly as he helped pull her up. He pulled her into him kissing her. "I missed you."
"I missed you too." She responded pulling away from him holding his hand pointing toward the door. "Where are we going? I'm hungry. I was waiting for you to come home before I made dinner..."
"I'll take care of that." He told her walking toward the door. "Let's go."
"But Brunnnoooo...." She fell into the car dramatically. "Where are we going?"
"Here..." he handed her his phone opened to an app she didn't know about. "This will keep you busy..."
She looked it unlocking the screen. "What the hell is this?" she asked.
"Just look." He said keeping his eye on the road trying to remember where he was going.
"Baby names?" she asked him.
"See, I care." He said sarcastically.
"Oh my god. I didn't even bring that up, Bruno. You couldn't have just handed it to me and said 'Yeah, baby names. I was thinking about them.' You had to turn it around on something I said months ago?" she asked in a frustrated tone.
"I'm sorry, Lauren. Yes. I've been thinking about them." He told her. "But I haven't looked at a lot of them. I think Dre and I looked at stupid ones like Hurricanne and Katniss on the way home."
"Didn't I tell you while you were gone? Katniss was on my list." She laughed at him. "And I could go for Hurricane. Hurricane and Katniss. They go."
"No they don't, Elle." He said not joking. "I don't think I can get behind that."
"I couldn't either." She told him matching his seriousness. "I want something that is equally classic and hipster...." She paused seeing him turn down a business residential street. "Where the hell are we going?"
"Just..." he bent down to the dashboard pointing. "Just think of all that cake...mmmmmm..." he said licking his lips.
"Casey's bakery? Bruno..she closes it at like 2....what are you doing?" she wondered seeing him pull up to the back of the small bakery.
"Just calm down, boo. I have it all planned. Close your eyes." He told her turning off the car watching her clutch her phone.
"You're not going to kill me, are you?" she laughed feeling the door open and his soft hands against hers.
"Come on, silly." He sail holding the key she had left him hoping he could open the door without any trouble. They both heard the click and he led her through the ovens and baking supplies to the front of the bakery. "Sit down..." he said. "But don't open your eyes yet..." he moved the pieces of cake Casey had made in front of her licking his fingers as the salsa he asked her to buy sat in a bowl off to the side. "Okay..." he said watching her open her eyes.
