The Hook-up

Chapter 134

Bruno looked at her trying not to laugh. "Lauren! Have you eaten since your cereal this morning?" Rose ran up to her carrying a granola bar in her hand.

"I haven't...." she answered taking the granola bar from her mother. "Sit and eat that....let me get you some Gatorade. You need to get your blood sugar up, sweetie." Rose responded running to get something for her.

"Are you okay?" Larissa came up to them concerned.

"Mom is getting me something. I'll be okay. We need to take pictures...." Lauren said getting a bit anxious aobut the schedule.

"It's okay, Lauren. If it takes longer it takes longer, boo." Bruno replied to her anxieties. "We can photoshop in the sunset."

"Shut up, Brunz." She giggled trying to stand up. "I think I'm okay. Let's take some pictures...." She said standing up looking at him with a serious look.

"Laur...come on. Calm down. Everything is going to be okay...." He said trying to calm her down.

"I am calm. I just want everything to be perfect and the twins are making it hard to do that." She said trying not to cry.

"Aww, babbbyyyy...." He stood up reaching to hug her. "It is perfect." He whispered to her tilting her head up a little to wipe away her evening tears.

"We should have done this in the middle of the day. Then I wouldn't have gotten all pissy." She laughed still in his arms forgetting that so many people were around them.

"Don't think about that kind of stuff now." He said quietly to her, also forgetting that everyone was around them.

"Stop being so fucking cute." They heard one of Bruno's sisters exclaim jolting them back to the setting sun and impending photos. "Did I ever tell you I hate taking pictures?" Bruno asked laughing at everyone.

After smiling so much that their jaws hurt the couple walked into the banquet room that was transformed from a small place for their families to eat the night before to a sparkling room full of white Christmas lights accented by light purple and grey tones on the tables with a variety of white flowers in the center of every single table. "It's so beautiful, Bruno. It's just the most amazing day..." she said leaning into him.

"Do you like it?" he asked sitting her down at a table in the center of the room with a yellow and black center piece reminiscent of Doo-wops and Hooligans.

"I love it....." she sat down picking up the flowers. "And this is just perfect."

"Don't move, mama...I have something for you..." he said kissing the top of her head running over to the small stage Lily had recreated from Lauren's description less than a week ago. Bruno leaned down to pick up the small microphone and started to clear his throat. "Thank you all for coming so quickly for us. It means the world to all of us....." he looked over to Lauren who was sitting at their center table by herself while everyone else mingled. "For fucksake someone go sit next to my lonely wife...." He said pointing to the table making her blush.

"Please?" she whined with a laugh. "I didn't fart yet....." she said seriously waiting for everyone to laugh at her.

"I'm coming!" Larissa ran toward her sister with Bruno's sisters with her. "Go ahead, Bruno...."

"Lauren, baby....." everyone heard the piano start with a soft beat of the drums behind him. He opened his mouth starting to sing about Lauren's emotional eyes and her dark brown hair. He sang about how she drove him crazy and how he could not be without her. He finished singing about the flower in her hair that evening hitting a high note that only he could hit. He leaned his head down wiping away a small tear in his eye looking back up at the wedding guests.

"Awww. He's so sweet." Presley sighed sitting next to Lauren.

"I know." Lauren laughed trying not to cry the same way Bruno had. He stepped down from the small stage turning off the microphone walking back over to Lauren with everyone else watching them.

"Hey look, there's food...." Bruno exclaimed pointing to the edge of the room where the staff had placed a buffet set-up of food. After Bruno got everyone to turn around to look at the food he pulled Lauren as close to him as possible kissing her the same way he had earlier in the day.

"Do I get kisses like that for the rest of my life?" she asked him pulling him back near her to kiss him back the same way.

"After that, yeah..." he pulled away with a smirk on his face.

"Don't even think about touching my leg....." she said pushing his hand away from her waist.

"Okay. I can behave. But only until we get back to the room...." He said to her with a sly wink.

"You are really bad at that..." she told him reaching for the cup of Gatorade they had poured for her.

Bruno asked Lauren what she wanted to eat bringing her a huge plate of everything she asked for. They ate and ate and ate until Lily told them they needed to be somewhere else. "First dance, babbyyy....." he sang to her helping her stand up swinging her around the small spaces of chairs as everyone watched them walk up to the cleared area for dancing.

"What is our first song?" she asked him not aware of the next sequence of events.

"Don't even ask, sweetheart...." He said lifting his head up to see the lights dim and a small spotlight land on the two of them as a piano started playing behind an unfamiliar voice.

"I wanted you to be cheesy....." she said laying her head on his shoulder as he held onto her with everyone watching.

"I have the rest of my life to be cheesy and sing to you." He said to her lifting her head up to look into her eyes making her laugh at his statement.

"So what's tonight about?" she asked him still looking into his eyes.

"You....me.....us....not anything else." He said leaning into her touching her lips lightly lingering as the doo-wop music played. "Mmmm....." he sighed with satisfaction. "I can't wait for it to be just us...." He said suddenly spinning her around making everyone happy at how dramatic he could be with her.

"I can't wait either...." She said feeling his hand reach down to her side grazing her lightly making her tingle. After the last few notes of the song played the two of them lingered in the middle of the spotlight. "Okay....you can all go home...." Lauren proclaimed turning around to face everyone holding onto Bruno.
