The next day Bruno sat next to Damaris at breakfast not saying anything. She was getting better at reading his emotions. "What happened with her last night?" she asked.

"Nothing." he said shrugging his shoulders.

"I'm pretty sure you're lying, Bruno." she said pushing her food around trying to get him to talk. "What did she say?"

"She said she wants to get a divorce." he said flatly avoiding eye contact.

"What were you expecting?" Damaris asked.

"I don't know." he answered looking up still confused.

"You're still not sure what you want to do, do you?" she asked.

"No." he said standing up to get away from her. "She yelled at me and told me that everytime she got mad at me I got mad at her a million times more and that she has the right to be mad at me and then told me all these things about trying to be like you and trying to get me back." he said starting to ramble.

"What did she say about me, Bruno?" Damaris asked now intrigued by their conversation.

"Not anything nice." he answered taking her plate from her table.

"Well, I figured as much. What did she say?" Damaris pushed.

"It's not going to help you to know that she hates your accent and that you wear 6 inch heals when you're with me." Bruno told her taking her hand to go to the couch. "What matters is that I'm with you and not her." he said kissing her cheek with a smile.

"Are you sure you're not still in love with her, Bruno? You smell like her and not me and your clothes are all wrinkled.." She asked. "Did you sleep with her last night?"

Bruno laid his back and closed his eyes sighing heavily. She knew that she would know. This is fucked up. Quietly he said to no one in particular, "I slept with her last night."

"Oh." she said not quite sure how to react to the revelation. She stood up walking to the kitchen table to reach for a cigarette. "Give me a little bit." she said walking outside to her small patio.

In the middle of the day the next day Lauren dialed Wes to see if she could get out of telling him what happened the night before. "Hey, Laur. How are you?" he asked sounding like he was half asleep.

"Did I wake you up?" she asked almost apologetic.

"No. I just got up though." he said with a sleepy laugh that she had come to enjoy when they talked. "How did it go last night?"

"Okay." she said not elaborating.

"What was his reaction? Did he get upset? I bet he cried." he tried not to laugh thinking about Bruno's reaction based on the things she had said about him. "Did he throw something?"

"No. It was fine." Lauren answered.

"Hey you called me. If you want my support you gotta give me more than that, Lauren." Wes answered her.

"He did cry. I yelled a lot. I told him he should have it by March. He tried to convince me not to file." she elaborated a bit more.

"Well you didn't say yes to that did you? You don' love him anymore. He's an asshole." Wes said. But I don't know. I kind of liked it last night. I wish he could have stayed....and then we could come home and things would be better..."Elle?"

She was jolted out of her thoughts. "Oh. You're right. No. I told him that he was going to get the papers no matter what."

"That's good." he said almost triumphantly. "Did you want to go to the gala thing with me when you get back? It's a Saturday." he asked changing the subject.

"That's all night, isn't it?" she asked.

"Yeah. I think so." he answered about a charity gala that he had been invited to.

"I really just want to stay home, I'm sorry. Why don't you take Celina?" she asked.

"I guess I could. I just want to show you off." he laughed a little turning on water to brush his teeth.

"I want you to, but I just miss my kids and my bed." she told him.

"I know. Maybe I can make an appearance and then come over there?" he wondered.

"You could." she told him. "But Wes...there's something you should know before we see each other again."

"What?" he asked her.

"I slept with him last night." she said plainly.
