A few hours later Lauren felt a soft hand reach for her arm making her jump. "Oh god!" she exclaimed causing Bruno to jump and the nurse holding onto her arm to jump back. "Oh. I am so sorry." Lauren said to the nurse Denise that was trying to get her blood pressure.

"It's okay, Mrs. Hernandez. The doctor will be here in a few minutes to check up on you." Renee answered writing something down. "How are you feeling?"

"I was fine when I was asleep, but I feel a little pressure now." Lauren said cringing watching Bruno move his hands to her forehead.

"She didn't sleep a lot." He told Renee.

"I felt like I did..." she told Bruno.

"When you sleep well you sleep on your back. You were on your side." He answered.

"Oh. Well, I guess I learn something new every day." She said shrugging her shoulders feeling that they possibly could have argued about her amount of sleep.

"Good morrnnning!" a cheery Dr. Dahse came into the room. "Let's get you checked." She said moving around to check how close to giving birth Lauren was. "You're about 9 centimeters and fully ephased , Ms. Lauren. You should be ready to push by noon." She told them. "We'll keep an eye on you. Maybe every hour or so, okay?"

Lauren bit her lip getting even more nervous than she had been before. "Uh huh."

"You're going to be an amazing mother, Lauren. No need to be nervous." Dr. Dahse smiled turning to Bruno. "And you're going to be an amazing father." She said turning around with Renee to visit with another patient.

"Oh my god." Lauren gasped. "Oh my god." She repeated reaching for Bruno pulling him toward her. "I can't do this."

"Yes you can." He leaned in to hug her whispering in her ear. "You can do it and you're going to be amazing." He stayed near her ear breathing with her to calm her down hearing her phone start to ring.

"Get my phone babe...." Lauren asked him seeing him grab the phone to talk to her mother telling her that she probably should come back to the hospital. "When are they going to be here?"

"By like 7:30..." he said leaning in to kiss her. "I love you." He said sweetly moving his head to her wired stomach. "And you and you." He said smiling against her stomach.

"Did you sleep?" she asked watching him move back to sit next to her.

"A little. But I watched you try to sleep most of the night." He said stretching his legs out.

"So I really didn't sleep well, did I?" she wondered rubbing her eyes.

"No. You didn't." he laughed.

"But you didn't either." She smiled at him.

"No. I was too excited to see the babies...." He said handing her the water she was eyeing.

"Lauren....look up at me and hold onto Bruno. We have to get them out as fast as we can...." Dr. Dahse said with a bit of caution in her voice. Within the few hours that the doctor had come in to room to check on them the baby boy had turned around so much that he was very close to having the umbuical cord wrapped around his neck. The doctor tried several times to make sure that the cord was not around him. As she started to move the baby around Lauren sensed a change in the mood from happiness to stress. "Lauren, your baby boy may have some meconium. There's a bit of distress, but we're moving quickly."

"Distress?" Lauren asked squeezing Bruno's arm watching him cringe. "Oh, sorry." She said sweetly letting go of his arm.

"No, hold onto me." He said staring at the doctor. "He'll be okay, though?"
