Bruno sat at a big wooden table across from Seth Meyers watching him tap his pen contemplating the rhythm of the pen that hit the table through the idle conversations that were around him. "Okay...so....we're doing the thing with the singing machine men...." Bruno stated. "What exactly do I have to do? Are we singing?" he asked trying to clarify the conversation they had just had.

"Exactly." another writer said stopping Seth from tapping his pen. "That's annoying."

"And what else?" Bruno asked taking a sip of water trying to wrap his head around everything that he was doing.

After clarifying the episode Bruno walked out of the building feeling the brisk early Fall air against his face. Dre walked behind him trying to keep up with Bruno's randomly brisk pace. Bruno reached for his phone to see that Lauren had texted him to tell him that the babies had a fever and she was taking them to the doctor.

Okay

He texted back not sure how much input she wanted from him.

I am so glad that you care about your children

She texted him back.

"Oh god. Shut the hell up, Lauren." he moaned starting to text his wife.

Come on, Elle. I'm just busy. I will call you when I'm done.

He pressed send unsure of what her reaction would be.

I don't need to talk to you. I just wanted to tell you what happened. We'll be fine.

He rolled his eyes feeling the uneasiness of the conversation they were having.

"Dre, I need to get to the gym." Bruno told his body guard.

Please don't lie to me.

He responded to her last text message.

What are you doing? Don't you have things to do?

No. I'm done.

He picked up his phone finally deciding to call her. "Lauren, what's wrong with the babies?"

"I don't know yet." she said with a crying baby on her hips. "I don't know. But we're waiting right now for the doctor."

"Lauren, I wish I was there." he said with concern in his voice.

"It doesn't matter, Bruno. It doesn't matter what you think, what you want, what you did or what you plan to do. This is the way it is. I can do it." she snapped feeling herself about to burst into tears the same way her daughter was while laying in the crib next to her.

"Lauren. Please stop." he tried to calm her down realizing that she wasn't upset at him for once, but that she was completely overwhelmed by the situation and that there was nothing he could do for her. "Baby, is Jamie home? How about Tahiti? Get them to come with you. You need help right now. Please."

"No. I can do it. I'm leaving in a few minutes." she said feeling her son's burning head and tears coming down his cheeks. She started to cry through the phone. Bruno mouthed to Dre to have him call his sisters.

"Laur, sit down for a second, please. I can tell your walking around. Sit down with him."

"I can't. He gets louder. And she won't stop. I don't know what to do..." she cried.

"Sit down. Please." he said calmly. "Move him up to your heart and sing him that song I was singing when I was with them. The one about the stars."

"I can't remember it." she said still sobbing.

"Put the phone on speaker. Put it on his chest so he hears me." Bruno instructed.

"Okay." she said through the speaker hearing him start to singing moving the baby in her arms to the sound of his voice. A few minutes later Lauren felt her son's head fall fast asleep. She unclicked the speaker picking up the phone. "How did you do that?" she asked.

"That's what I sang to you when you were asleep. It's kind of our thing. Is Everlee asleep?" he asked.

"Yeah. She just fell asleep They're still burning up. But I don't know how to get them to the car without waking them up. They're not sleeping through as much anymore."

"Just wait a few minutes. Jamie will be there to help." he told Lauren.

"But I didn't call her." Lauren said setting down the baby contemplating giving the babies Tylenol to help their fever.

"I did." Bruno answered in a soft soothing tone. "Are you standing again? Sit down, Lauren."

"I can't. I have to get them to the doctor." she told him hearing a knock at her mother's door. "She's here. I need to go. Thank you, Bruno. I love you."

"Call me when you get done at the doctor?" he asked her.

"Yeah, I will." she said wiping away her tears.

"I love you, Lauren." he said finishing the conversation. "Kiss them for me."

"I will." she answered opening the door to see her sister-in-law the first time since she broke her wrist.
