They stopped to eat dinner at a small restaurant that Bruno had seen on their way to the doctor's office. After dinner they drove home in a good mood almost as if the night before hadn't happened at all. It was nothing. It was one time. He's doing well. He knows he messed up. It will get better. She justified to herself as they got home.
"Bruno?" she asked him from the kitchen while feeding the dogs.
"Yeah?" he asked her."When are we going to get married?" she asked in an almost shy quiet voice. "Because I want to get married when we're happy."
"We are happy...." He said taking the bowls of food to help her. "What are you talking about?"
"I just get worried that we'll plan something and we'll get in a fight around everyone and then they'll be all 'Why are they getting married?' and not support us like they are now." She told him.
"When do you want to get married?" he countered her question.
"I know what I want..." she said walking to the living room sitting down next to him in a bar stool showing him pictures and ideas.
"Wow." He said not sure how to react to her planning.
"It's not like I'm the crazy girlfriend that is planning the rest of our lives after the first date....you did propose..." she said holding up her hand watching him reach for it with a smile.
"If you want it we can do it." He responded.
"You're still not answering my question..." she told him. "I want to know when..."
"I don't know, baby. I don't know when we'll have time..." he admitted a bit nervous. "You have everything so perfect...." He reached for her pictures pointing to everything. "I don't know how long it will take to make it perfect like you want it..." he told her. "And I want that day to be our day. No one and nothing else. But right now, I'm sharing you with the album and the babies...." He said to her trying to get her to understand exactly what he meant. It wasn't that he didn't want to. He wanted it to be everything she dreamt of.
"I understand." She said in a sad tone standing up to look at her phone not turning around to talk to him. "We leave at 10 tomorrow morning."
"We what?" he asked a bit shocked.
"When you were on the phone with Brandon. I bought the tickets." She responded.
"Oh." He replied. "You had this planned before, Lauren..." he cracked a smile that she could hear from behind her.
"I had the days off. I wasn't going to just sit at home by myself. I know I'm going to have to do that at some point with them...." She said turning around to see him cleaning up in the kitchen. "And they're expecting us."
"What if I said no?" he asked her pulling her toward him onto the couch feeling her cringe a little. "I'm sorry." He reached up her wrist rubbing it lightly.
"You weren't going to say no." she responded finding a comfortable place in his arms.
"Yeah. You're right. I wouldn't say no." he answered moving his hands to her stomach feeling the babies.
"They can hear you now...." She responded to his touch. He laid his head on her shoulder near her ear starting to sing You are my sunshine moving his hands to different parts of her stomach trying to find where both of the babies were resting. "Here.." she interrupted the sweet song to move his hands exactly where she felt both the babies.
