Thank you guys so much for reading my story, I didn't think it would get this many reads when I started out!
Speaking of starting out, I was reading the first few chapters of this story and realized how horribly written and carroty they were so I'm really sorry about that (I may go back and edit them a bit but I'll probably get too lazy tbh) so thanks again for sticking with this story even when the start was really sucky(:
So here's chapter 17, I AM SO SORRY for taking like a MONTH to update ): I've been so preoccupied with vacays and back to school crap so forgive meeee
CHAPTER 17
Elizabeth's POV:
"Niall, did you really have to do that?" I put down the book I was reading, wiping the droplets of water off of my skin with the towel I was lying on. He had (intentionally, I'm sure) jumped into the pool about a foot away from where I was sunbathing, completely drenching me.
A blond head popped out of the clear blue water, and Niall's infectious laugh filled the air. "Couldn't resist, sorry,"
"You got some on me, too," Louis grumbled, peeking over his Raybans to glare at Niall. "You're lucky my tanning oil is waterproof."
I laughed, leaning back on my elbows and tilting my face up towards the sun. There wasn't anything better than spending the afternoon at the pool with the boys on one of their days off. They had performed yesterday a nearby football stadium and needed the relaxing time, and I didn't want to be cooped up at home, typing up drafts for Twist articles any longer.
"Perks of being friends with millionaires: they rent flats with private fifty-foot swimming pools in the back," I murmured contentedly, lying back down on my towel and closing my eyes.
"Cons of being friends with millionaires: they do THIS," A tall shadow fell over me, and before I could react, two large hands had slipped under my back and lifted me up.
"DON'T YOU DARE." I whipped off my sunglasses to give Harry my most threatening glare, but as he stared down at me with a goofy smile on his face framed by his signature floppy curls, it was impossible to keep a straight face.
"Too late," he tossed me sideways into the pool and I landed with a giant splash. He jumped in soon after, laughing along with Niall.
I waded over to the side of the pool, attempting to lift myself out, but a muscular arm snaked around my waist and pulled me backwards.
"Where do you think you're going?" he said in my ear.
"Out of this pool," I said, reaching desperately for the metal rail but being dragged backwards.
"But I want to talk to you about something." he pulled me down to his level, hands resting on my hips.
"About what?" I stopped struggling to look up at him with curiosity.
He let go of me to prop his elbows on the pool ledge, his pretty green eyes showing pleasure.
"There's going to be an Awards Show tonight at 8, and we were invited to be there." he said. "L.A. Music Awards, to be specific. It's gonna be on national TV and stuff."
"Yeah, I know, you guys were nominated twice. Your point?" I pushed myself up on the ledge, my feet dangling next to his larger figure.
He rested his hand on the top of my knee, tapping it absently with his fingers. "I want you to come with me."
"What?" My eyes widened at his request. "But, that's like, for celebrities only. I don't even have a ticket."
"I reserved you one a week ago. Come on, it'll be fun, you'll be there as my date." he replied, turning to face me and setting both hands on my thighs. "It'll be our first public appearance as a couple."
