Chapter 11: The Plan is Back (Part 2)

Ok, sorry about this Part 1/Part 2 thing...my wattpad app was having weird malfunctions haha so yeah here's the rest of the chapter that didn't post.

Chapter 11 (Part 2) *still Elizabeth's POV*:

"Yeah, go ahead and leave ELIZABETH here." I said pointedly, causing him to look shamefully at his feet. "Yes, I did read her nametag. Do you want to explain why you named your dog after me?"

He tied Elizabeth the dog's leash to the leg of a metal bench on my porch, and looked up at me with a sigh. "I'm surprised you haven't guessed already." he ran a hand through his hair. "After you left me, well...I was kind of...sad. So I named the dog we bought together after you. To kind of remember you, you know? Since it was the last thing I had that reminded me of you." 

Now it was my turn to look awkwardly at my feet. 

"I mean that as a...a friend...not...not...yeah. You know." he brushed past me and went into my house, where he immediately started fixing himself a sandwich. "All of your food is in the same place, too!" He called out happily.

I couldn't help but grin to myself as I came back inside, bringing my tea with me. It was kind of nice having Alex back, I had to admit. After all, he was the best guy friend I'd ever had...well, besides you-know-who.

I grabbed my phone and sat down at the couch as I waited for Alex to finish making himself a meal. I texted Emma to tell her what had happened. I knew she would be just as shocked as I was when she heard the news. 

Message to: Emma

You wouldn't believe what happened. 

Message from: Emma

What???!!

Message to: Emma

I saw Alex today...and he named his dog after me.. and he's in my house right now...eating my food. 

Message from: Emma

...what.

Message from: Emma

Are you serious, Liz....don't mess with me right now, I'm still in an emotional state because of the Harry/Miranda incident. 

Message to: Emma

*picture attached* look. He is in my kitchen. Ems what do I do I feel so awkward.

Message from: Emma

Oh. My. God. This is officially the weirdest day ever.

"Is that Emma you're texting?" Alex's voice came from practically over my shoulder and I nearly had a heart attack. I had forgotten that Alex had a bad habit of looking over people's shoulders when they were doing something - definitely one of his qualities I hadn't missed.

"Yep." I said after I had regained my composure. 

He laughed, sitting down next to me and switching on the TV. "Sorry about that." he said. "I remember when I used to scare the crap out of you doing that back in days..."

"Just like the old times, huh?" I said, nudging him with my elbow. 

"Yep. Just like the old times." he settled into the couch, and I felt the awkward tension slip away as we ate food and made fun of 16 and Pregnant together. It felt like we hadn't seen each other for a few days and not three whole years.

"I'm glad you're back, Alex." I found myself saying.

"Yeah, and I'm glad we're friends again. I don't know why I held a grudge for so long. I guess I can forgive you for -" he stopped; I guess he saw me freeze up. "For, you know..."

And just like that, the awkward tension was back again. 

Just then, I saw that I was getting a call from Emma. Perfect timing. I put the popcorn in my hand back in the bowl and shoved the bowl from my lap to his. "Hey Lex, I'm gonna go to the bathroom really fast..." In five seconds flat I was out the door like Donkey Kong 64 and situated comfortably on the toilet seat lid down the hall, with the door locked. 

"Hello?" I whispered, praying that Ems would be able to hear me. 

"Ok, I'm officially a genius. Wait...why are you whispering?"

"Not important. Go on about you being a genius."

"Okay...so you know how you were mad about Caroline ruining our 'Plan'?"

"Yeah.."

"Well, she just put it off for a while...and I think it's time to get this show rolling again."

I didn't say anything, but I felt like my heart was beating a little bit faster.

"Except this time, we're not trying to get Harry away from Caroline...we're trying to get Harry away from Miranda, and conveniently have him fall for you at the same time." she continued. "Miranda is a girl. She is now Harry's friend. You are jealous of her. Alex is a guy. He is now your friend. Are you not catching my flow? It would be SO easy to make Harry jealous..."

Yep, my heart was definitely beating like a bass drum now.

"...and all we have to do is a few simple things. We gotta do a little stalking, find out wherever they're going to be at what time. Even though they aren't dating yet, we have to make sure it doesn't become anything more. We're gonna have to ruin their hang-outs, plan out complete disaster wherever they go, find every possible way to make Miranda look bad in front of Harry...all the while making Harry jealous by using Alex. I'm sure Alex won't mind; he's always liked to mess with other people...It's gonna work, I can just feel it." 

I felt a smile creep onto my face. "Emma...you really are a genius. This is gonna be the most fun I've ever had for the past few months, that's for sure."

"Now you're talking, Lizzie." She said slyly, taking on the tone of voice she did whenever she was thinking especially evil thoughts. "Mission Seduce Harry is far from over...He'd better watch out because the greatest scheme of all time is coming his way."
