Shinya's POV:

I watched as the forest came alive, it's claw like branches trying to swipe at me and my family. I sidestepped them easily. But the first one to make a mistake was my Dad. The trees were merciless, swiping him up and cutting him, up, dropping him into a pile of limbs with his head staring straight ahead in horror. My mother almost stumbled, but I saved her just in time.

The second one to stumble was my sister. I watched as the vines swirled around her arms and legs and ripped them off, leaving her on the ground staring at me in such a way as if to I am done for, save mom and yourself, Shi.

My mother and I made it quite a way through the woods after that, determined to not let my sister and father die in vain. Until her shoe slipped off and she slipped in the mud. The roots of the trees grabbed her around her throat, hanging her until she would breathe her last.

'Don-'t  tru-hi-st the Hi-r-a-g' She slumped down after saying this. She never finished, and I'll never know what she said, but I had a good idea only a week later.

I ran blindly the rest of the way through the forest, until the ground exploded a few feet away from me. I stumbled back, and as I turned to look behind me I saw a branch coming for me.

I closed my eyes, accepting my fate. A fate that never came. I opened my eyes to magenta looking eyes and black hair.

~How many years do you think it's been?~

I watched as Guren glowered at me and mumbled a string of curses as he picked up the mess he caused after I pranked him. Again. He should be used to it by now. I shrugged. His choice not to get used to it.

When he stopped, he went over to the corner and sat there, eyeing me peculiarly. I returned the look and he laughed.

"Want me to read you something?" I asked him. He nodded.

"Better not be porn, or else......" He trailed off. I laughed.

"That was one time when I was fifteen!" I exclaimed. Guren rolled his eyes.

"And that time last year." He finished. I pouted.

"It was my twenty-third birthday and you said anything was fine!" I exclaimed, shaking my finger at him.

"You know when I say anything I don't mean anything." He said, his mouth starting to twitch into a smile. Sighing, I exasperatedly put my hands up and went to the shelf, picking our favorite.

"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort." I started, voice smooth.

Yuu:

"Mika, I swear to God, if you keep following me into the bathroom, I will jump out the window of my apartment." Yuu complained, pinching the bridge of his nose in irritation.

"Yuu-chan! That's so mean! And I was just make sure nobody hurts you in the bathroom! That's my job!" Mika whined, trying to hug Yuu, but Yuu was moving just out of his range each time.

"You don't have to follow me into the stall!" Yuu's voice rose even more. Mika puffed up his cheeks, staring down at Yuu.

"That was one time." Mika defended.

"And that other time, and that other other time, and just now." Yuu deflected.

"I just worry!" Mika tried. Yuu sighed, guessing Mika was right. The angel did worry too much for his own good.

"Just don't do it again, you didn't make me take self defense classes for nothing, Mika." Yuu reminded him. There was silence from Mika as he floated there, giving Yuu the 'I was really worried' look. Yuu huffed, rolling his eyes.

"It's fine, just don't do it again, okay?" Yuu conceded, reaching up to drag Mika down to his level before bringing him in for a hug.

"No you're ri-" Yuu cut him off.

"We're both wrong and we're both right." Yuu said, hugging Mika tighter. After a long while, he pulled back, placing his hand on Mika's cheek, which the other boy immediately leaned into. Yuu smiled, at least that meant Mika cared.

Yuu started leaning forward, and then, his phone rang.

Kimizuki!:

"Yoichi I swear to God, if you make one more innocent sounding sexual innuendo, I'm going to, going to......hmm." Shiho paused in his rant, unsure of what to do to the cinnamon roll before him.

So instead, he messed with Yoichi's hair, causing Yoichi to frown. He hated it when Shiho messed his hair up, his green eyes shining with fondness and contempt. Yoichi stuck his tongue out playfully, before floating up to hang upside down from the ceiling.

"Do you ever get bored because no other people can see you but me? And you can't touch anything except me?" I asked him after a moment of thought.

"Sometimes." He replied, voice somewhat wistful. "But more often than not, I'm glad it's you." I was surprised at his answer. He really felt that way? I thought he would be tired of me by now. He smiled.

"Really? I mean, shouldn't you be tired of me?" I asked. He nodded.

"Most Guardians do get tired of their charges, but for some reason I never have." He winked at me. I smirked.

"I guess I'm just that interesting."

"I guess you're just that interesting." Yoichi said, seemingly nonchalant. I rolled my eyes, and leaned forward.

My phone rang.

Mitsu!:

I was just tripped, a-fucking-gain, by Shinoa. I glared at her.

"Fuck you!" I snarled, since no one was around.

"Oh Mitsu, it would be me fucking you if that ever happened." She said slyly. I glared. She was not helping her case.

"While that may be true..." I trailed off, realizing what I'd just allotted to, my huge crush on her. I blushed immediately. "Fuck." I said under my breath.

"Mitsu?" Shinoa asked gently, genuinely concerned for once. I turned my head to look at her, tears already showing at the corner of my eyes. I smiled, trying to show her I was okay.

"I'm fine." My voice betrayed me, coming out broken. Shinoa smiled gently at me, breaking my heart.

"Mistu, I" I cut her off.

"It's okay. Nobody's ever loved me anyways so..." I trailed off, looking away. She grabbed my face, turning it to her.

"I love you, Mistu." And then, the most amazing sensation ever. And the most annoying sound ever.

My phone ringing.
