A/N: Prepare yourself. Also written at 2 in the morning so... I need to sleep but this idea wouldn't leave me alone. So yeah. I'll probably revise this later, since the end is rushed a bit. I'll do that when I'm more awake. Enjoy!

"Mama, can I go play with Shinoa?" The young boy asked, wild black hair ruffling in the slight breeze coming through the open windows. It was a warm summer evening, still bright and just warm enough to be comfortable. The woman sitting at the chair in front of him offered a warm smile as she pretended to think about it.
"Have you done your chores?" She asked, even though she knew he had. He smiled brighter, and she could tell he felt successful. He nodded, knowing what her answer would be already. "Alright, but be back in an hour, I'll have dinner ready by then." She told him, reaching out and ruffling his hair. His bright green eyes were hidden for a moment as he scrunched them together, ducking under hand and skipping away.
He stopped at the home's entrance, pulling on a worn pair of play shoes. A man passed behind him, giving him a smile that he couldn't see.
"You going out to play?" The man asked happily, watching his son nostalgically, remembering when he'd done the same before going out to play when he was a kid. The boy turned, nodding vigorously.
"Mmhmm!" He responded, turning back around and reaching for the door handle.
"Have fun." And the man went on his way, down the hall as the door closed behind him.
The boy loved the feeling of the wind rushing by as he ran. It cooled him down and motivated him to go farther. But, sadly, since Shinoa was such a girl, he had to keep pace with her whenever they played.
He rushed up the street, passing many colorful houses, cheerful and welcoming, though his target was a house at the end of the street, with gray paneling and wide windows. It's door was a lighter gray, and it read 'Hiiragi'.
He knew that since he could read now, after being through two years of school already. He smiled as he knocked on the door, a rather larger older man answering it.
"Hello Mr.Hiiragi!" He greeted, smile going full charm. "Is Shinoa available to play?" He asked, making sure to be extra polite, just like his parents had taught him.
"Why hello Yuuichirou, of course. I'll call her down." The man replied, before turning and yelling up the stairs for his daughter.
"Coming!" She responded, bounding down the stairs. Today the young girl was wearing denim shorts and a striped t-shirt with a small pocket. Her hair was tied back in a red bow, to match the stripes. "Hi!" She closed the door behind her, since she knew the time limit for her was sundown.
"Regular place?" Yuu asked her. She nodded, taking his hand and running for the woods behind their neighborhood. They ran easily, enjoying the warm air around them.
"How many more dreams have you had?" Shinoa asks, once they are far enough away. Now they can walk, since they know no one will disturb them here.
"Three? One about blond hair and others about you and a couple of other people." Yuu informs her, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"Ah. I've had five. Some about my family and others about you and the same people, probably."
They keep walking in silence, since they usually start playing when they reach their usual spot. It's an abandoned airway with a crater in the middle, as if something big happened there once. All the plane bits are gone, but the faded white paint and the cracked cement remain.
Once they clear the treeline, they stop. There is someone, right in the middle of the crater, and they look to have not heard them. But his hair. It's blond. The same shade Yuu often dreams of. Even though he's 6 he has never seen such a color in Japan. His parents told him that most blond's live in America and Europe. This made him sad, since he'd often wanted to meet the blond haired person in his dreams.
"Now we can't play hide-and-seek!" Shinoa whisper yells to him. He smiles.
"Yeah." And then, "Do you think we should talk to him?"
"No Yuu! Are you stupid? Our parents said never to talk to strangers, remember?" She asks.
"I wanna talk to him though. He reminds me of the blonde hair in my dreams." Yuu tells her, and she sighs.
"Let's just go."
"I don't bite." A new voice enters the conversation, and they both whip around to stare at the blond-haired man, who's now facing them. The first thing they see are the red eyes, but they don't look bad. They don't look like the eyes of vampires, that are shown to the them in their history class.
"Hi." Yuu drawls, because he can't think of anything else.
"Hello, you two. Are you lost? It's a pretty long way from anywhere." The man is walking closer, and Shinoa tenses, but Yuu relaxes somewhat. This man, he feels familiar to Yuu.
"Ah, sorry! This is our place we come to play! We didn't mean to bother you." Shinoa tells him trying to take Yuu's wrist, but Yuu brushes her off.
"No, no, I'm just curious as to why you'd play here." The man laughs, now only a few feet from them.
"Who're you?" Yuu boldly asks, speaking for the first time since his awkward greeting .
"Mikaela." The man, Mikaela, answers.
"Mikaera?" Yuu parrots back, only to have the stranger shake his head.
"Ah, why don't you just call me Mika?" Mika asks, smiling at the boy's trouble with his name.
"Why are you so nice to us?" Shinoa asks. Mika chuckles.
"I am not a kidnapper. I just come here every once and a while. This place is important to my past. I come to honor it." Mika says, blond hair swaying in the breeze.
"Past? You're a vampire?!" Yuu guesses, and Shinoa's eyes widen in shock.
"Yes. Sorry. I'll leave." Yuu shakes his head.
"Stay." Shinoa speaks, surprising both Yuu and Mika.
"O-okay."
"My name is Yuu!" Mika smiles, obvious nostalgia and joy in his eyes.
"Shinoa."
"Then I'll call you two Yuu-chan and Shi-chan!" Mika announces, looking happy with himself.
"I know you." Yuu blurts out, surprising both of them there with him.
"Yes, yes you do." Mika relents. Shinoa gasps.
"So those dreams... are memories?" She guesses. Mika smiles, scratching the back of his neck. Yuu gasps in awe, Mika's fangs are barely visible.
"Yes. Do want to here the story?" Mika asks. Yuu wants to say yes, but he knows they have to go.
"I do, but we have to go." He says, sad that he won't here it.
"I can keep coming here." Mika says.
"Promise?" They both say at the same time. Mika smiles at the cuteness of that action.
"Promise."
