Poem #65// Star

She was a star
Shining in the darkness.
Bright,
Illuminating,
Comforting,
Surrounded.

She was dying.
Hurt,
Scarred,
Forgotten,
Broken.
Always taking care of others, never herself.

She was a flower
Standing tall in a field.
Colorful,
Happy,
Beautiful,
One of a kind.

She was alone.
Scared,
Overlooked,
Exhausted,
Mistreated.
No one ever saw her beauty,
Only the ugliness in the ones around her.

There is pain in beauty.
And darkness in light.
But that should never be the reason
That you give up the fight.
For you are stronger than them.
You are better than them.

You are a dying star in a dying world
And a flower in a mistreated field.
Don't let them take your beauty away.
