I hope to stay alive.
Others wish for boyfriends.
I wish for people who understand.
Others pray for forgiveness.
I pray for my life.
Others dream of a prince.
I dream of a better life.
Others want perfection.
I want to be loved.
Others crave attention.
I crave a simple love.
Others know what they want in life.
I know that I want to survive.
I know that I'm stronger than the voices.
I know that I'm more than you think.
I know that I'm my own person.
I know that I make my own choices.
I know, that I am who I am.
I'm Alyssa and I am better,
Stronger,
Brighter
Than what I used to be.
