"Why wouldn't you want to go?" One of your two friends, Mina asks you. Both friends sitting directly across you on your bed.
"Yeah, I mean come on." Your other friend Chaerin bugs you. "It's supposed to be great. Who doesn't like amusement parks?"
"Because," you argue back, ears red with anger and irritation. "I just hate school trips. The bus rides are the worse, and you guys know I don't like big rides." It was the end of the school year, and your so called huge class trip was today. You were supposed to go to Everland, the largest amusement park in Korea, but you was reluctant to go.
"We can't just leave you here or we'll be late to school. You're our ride after all." Chaerin pleaded you. Trying anything make you less reluctant.
You cross your arms questioningly over your chest. "Give me one good reason why I should go."
They pondered for a moment, trying to decide if it was worth a shot. "How about this," Mina whispered. "After this year, we're gone and off to college. And you won't have to see that Jun kid anymore."
She smirked at you, watching your expression unfold, satisfied with her remark. "Let's go celebrate." Chaerin grabs your arm, pulling both you and Mina out the door.
"I told you guys I hate buses," you glare at your friends, holding your hand to your mouth.
"We know," Mina says happily. "That's why we brought bags!" She holds up some brown paper bags, and just the sight of them made you feel like you were going to throw up.
Chaerin leaned over Mina and opened up the window for you, making the whole situation only a little better. "Why did you guys make me sit in the back of the bus." You groan, cluthing your stomach.
"Yah, is everything okay back here?" The teacher made his way to the bac of the bus, witnessing you struggled to keep this morning's breakfast down.
With a hand still over your mouth, you shook your head lightly. "Why don't you move to the front of the bus, sweetie," he takes your arm, helping you stand up.
Bowing slightly, you begin to make your way to the front of the bus while it was still moving. This was a huge mistake on your part. Your unstable legs weren't so dependable as you heard a loud sound come from the engine of the bus, making it jerk forward a little. You flew forward, preparing your face to personally meet the ground.
You feel someone snatch your waist, securing you tightly so the contact never came. You traced your eyes up the arm around your waist, seeing who was your savior.
Jun.
"Um, t-thanks," you stutter, not exactly wanting to thank him. He didn't let go if you right away, and you couldn't help but blush as his finger brushed your skin.
"Whatever," he rolled his eyes.
"Wow," you scoff audibly. "And to think you could be nice to me for one second." When he doesn't respond, you stand awkwardly, desperately wanting to find a different seat.
"Would you stop complaining and sit down already before you fall again?" he snaps at you after a minute. You jump, immediately taking the seat beside him.
This was going to be a hell of a bus ride.
"Yah, why isn't the bus moving?" a student next to you calls to the teacher. You take a glance outside the window, only to see the bus is pulled over in the middle of nowhere. Nothing could be seen in your surroundings except for a gas station, a fast food restaurant, and a cheap hotel.
"I knew we shouldn't have taken this bus," the bus driver mutters to himself louder than he intended.
"What is that supposed to mean?" The teacher snaps at him, seeing as there was nowhere else to go.
"I'm sorry, but this bus has had an engine problems for a while. I'll have to call someone out here to come fix it."
"Like who? We're in the middle of nowhere." Jun yells at the bus driver, earning a stare from the older male. You slap his arm, warning him to be more respectful.
"Don't touch me," he warns.
"Whatever." You mock his tone from earlier.
"Okay, everyone off the bus." The teacher gains everyone's attention. "Looks like we're staying here for tonight."
You've got to be kidding me, you thought to yourself, looking at the sketchy hotel. Making your way out the bus, you push yourself through the crowd of people to find a disappointed Chaerin and Mina.
"You've got to be kidding," Chaerin said under her breath.
"How are we-" Mina was interrupted as the teacher began speaking to all the students again.
"Alright everyone!" he shouted so everyone could hear him. "I want you all in pairs of two. Each pair gets a room. We will leave first thing tomorrow morning!"
You turn back around only to see your friends joining arms, looking at you sadly. "Sorry..." Scowling at them, you watch as the rest of the students walking in pairs into the creepy looking hotel.
Being the only one without a partner, you scan the sea of students, trying to find a single. And there for sure, was frowning Jun leaning up against the bus, already looking right at you.
"Roommate?"
"I can't believe this," you angrily speak to yourself as you enter the room with Jun. You and Jun both drop your bag when you see one small bed placed in the center of the room.
"I'm going to slam my head against the wall," Jun murmers.
"Not before I do it for you," you say under your breath so he wouldn't hear you. "I'll take the floor," you automatically offer. No way you were going to get into a fight with this idiot about it.
"Listen, as much as I hate you, I can't let you do that." He walks over to the bed, fixing it as he was getting ready to slide under the covers.
"If you think I'm getting under there with you-"
"Would you just shut up and go with it. I don't want either of us sleeping on this disgusting floor." He slides over, making as much room as he could for you on this ridiculously small bed.
You both lay wide awake on your backs, unable to find slumber. Each of you were hanging off the edge of the bed, making it impossible to be comfortable.
Jun urged a deep sigh next you, earning a stare as he says, "That's it. I can't take sleeping like this anymore. There's no room."
Thinking that he was going to lay on the floor, you're surprised when he pushes you on your side. Turning on his side as well, he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close as he snuggled his head into your hair.
"Why are you-"
"Sh... just sleep." And for the rest of the night, the two of you stayed in that position.
You had to admit it to yourself, you've never had a better sleep.
