Mira's p.o.v
The weather was a bit chilly. I continued swinging my legs on the swing, humming to music that blared through my earphones. Mike would be away with Jake for the afternoon, which left me with nothing to do but miss him and wait. He had been busy a lot lately. I didn't like, but I wasn't gonna say anything. I'd rather not be clingy and annoy him.
I agreed with Annabelle to meet with her, seeing as I've been avoiding her lately. Such a good friend I am. She is such a pro when it comes to making people wait. After a bit, I decided to start avoiding her again. Standing, I tucked my phone in my hoodie pocket and began walking home. After going a few feet from the swing, I felt a quick tap on my shoulder.
Glancing behind me, no one was there, so I figured it was maybe something brushing against me. Shrugging, I turned around, facing forward and screaming in shock and fear. Annabelle stood in front of me, giving her signature smile. Groaning, I gripped where my heart belonged, catching my breath. "Geez, be less of a creep, yeah?" I mumbled.
She giggled and grabbed my hand, tugging me back to the swing. It was hard not tripping on my own feet sometimes. I just get so clumsy. She kept an eye on me, making sure I stayed on my feet. After sitting on the swing and giving a relieved sigh, she plopped on the one next to me and begin to blab about something. Being me, I turned up the volume and listened to the music, not caring what she had to say.
After nodding at what seemed to be the appropriate times in this one-sided conversation, I decided to spare my earphones and lower the volume. Warmth met my lips and I resisted a hiss, glancing up to see Mike. The warmth from my lips spread to my heart before piercing my stomach with butterflies. He smiled, which melted my heart more.
Yanking the earphones out, I tackled him, hugging tightly. He fell first, breaking my fall. He didn't seem to mind, seeing as I always do this to the poor guy. A happy sigh escaped my lips, causing me to blush a bit. He gave my favorite chuckle before letting his lips find mine. I wanted nothing more than to be with him.
I heard shuffling behind me, before getting a small tap on the back. Sighing, I turned around, seeing Annabelle. "Mira, dear? You shouldn't pounce in skirts, seeing as yours has risen a bit," she mumbled. I blushed and quickly tugged it down, pouting as they both laughed. Mike sat up, which caused me to have a clinging urge. Deciding against it, I took it as a hint to get up, following it. He gave a curious glance before pulling me back against him. Annabelle laughed and took a picture.
She went on about something. As always, I didn't care for her words. Mike seemed to, seeing as he smiled at something I didn't catch. I glanced at Anni, sighing as my eyes fell to a dull brown. She always ruins the mood when I just want his focus on me. Slowly, I felt the dull glance become a jealous glare as her and Mike began talking. She didn't notice, which made me bury my face in his chest. Geez, I am definitely going back to avoiding her.
