Jake's p.o.v

It wasn't always easy. I'd considered moving in with Jess many times. But it was like she'd grown more ridiculously bitchy. Sighing, I raked my fingers through my hair. She was pacing back and forth, watching me as I sat on the couch. Snoring sounded from Mike's room, so I figured he and his girlfriend were asleep. It'd be better if Jess wasn't always yelling.

Taking a step toward her, I held her close, wrapping an arm around her waist and hugging her. She buried her face in my chest, mumbling about something I didn't bother catching. The snoring grew quieter as I sat with her, brushing a lock of hair out of her face. "Sorry," she sighed, and I merely nodded. She gave a frown and nodded, letting it slide.

Mira shuffled from Mike's room, waving at us before leaving. She had a troubled look, but I just shrugged it off, letting her leave. Mike groaned and it got a laugh out of me. Kissing Jess's shoulder, I got up to go see why the prick was being a baby. He was curled in the covers, so I tugged them from under him, causing him to flip out of bed. He groaned louder, but curled up where he was.

Flopping on his bed, I poked at him, mimicking the way Jess swayed her legs when she'd lay on her stomach. "What's wrong Mikey?" I tried, imitating Mira's voice. He groaned louder so I shrugged, rolling on top of him before running from the room. Jess looked at me and I just shrugged. He and I had plans to go to France today, so I started making calls, making sure my mate was able to watch the kittens.

That's probably what upset Mira, come to think of it. Deciding to check on her, I grabbed my jumper, looking at Jess and nodding before opening the door. I lifted my foot to step out the door, but accidentally kicked something in the process. My gaze quickly shifted down, afraid I'd hurt one of the cats. Luckily, it was just Mira sitting by the door. Rolling my eyes, I dragged her inside, already aware of how the goodbye would be.
