The next day was the first day of class.
The first class was transfiguration.
You walked in with Draco, but you wished you were with Hermione, who was alone.
Where's Harry?
You sat down, and waited. Class was supposed to start, but Professor Mcgonagall wasn't there yet, only her cat.
Harry and Ron ran in, talking about how lucky they were that Mcgonagall hadn't shown up yet.
Suddenly the cat leaped off the desk and when it stood in front of Harry, it was Mcgonagall!
She threatened to turn one of them into a map then told them to take their seats.
Class was easy, but you didn't use magic.
You were desperate to use your wand, you hadn't done any magic yet.
Next was Charms.
Flitwick taught about Wingardium Leviosa.
You were the first one to get it right. But no one seemed to notice. Except Harry, who was giving you the biggest smile. You tried to suppress your blush and smiled back.
When Hermione got it, she was congratulated. You were beyond mad, and stormed out of the classroom the second class was dismissed.
"(Y/n) wait!" Harry chased after you. You spun to look at him.
"You were brilliant. It doesn't matter that no one else saw." He said and wrapped his arms around you. You froze, then hugged back.
"Thank you Harry. I was over reacting." You smiled weakly, ashamed, and walked with him to potions. You sat next to Draco and waited for Professor Snape.
Suddenly the door slammed and Snape speed walked in.
"There will be no wand waving or silly incantations in this class." He said in a bored tone. He went off on a spiel of all the things you could do with potions. Then he stopped. He questioned Harry about things like bezoars. You were turning bright red.
You saw Harry taking notes! He was paying attention! Every question that Snape asked, he would say he didn't know, but Hermione would raise her hand and look like she was about ready to jump out of her seat.
"Looks like fame isn't everything Potter." Snape said finally. Draco smirked.
Snape and Flitwick were officially on your list.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
The days went by quickly. Your classes were getting easier for you. You were getting the best grades out of all of the first years. Except of course Hermione.
You wrote to your mother often. She told you your father has been getting very angry lately, and you were not to come home for Christmas.
Christmas came very quickly. On the day everyone who was set to leave was leaving, the Great Hall was packed with friends trying to say their goodbyes. Hermione was just saying goodbye to Harry and Ron.
You quickly looked to see if Draco was watching, and finding he wasn't there, ran over to Hermione.
"Have a nice break Hermione!" You said, hugging her tightly. You two had become great friends since Halloween when you helped save her from the troll attack.
"You too (y/n)! I'll write to you." She smiled and walked out.
You then turned to the boys.
"Ooh, you're playing wizards chess? May I play next?" You ask, smirking. This was your favorite game. You never lost.
"Sure. You won't beat me though." Ron smirked.
Soon enough, Ron beat Harry, and it was your turn.
The game took a long time, and soon, you only had your queen and king left, and Ron had a knight and a king.
You easily took out the knight, and finally, you put his king in check mate.
"Ha! I win!" You teased, jokingly sticking your tongue out.
Ron looked at you with wide eyes.
"What? I never lose!" Ron whined. Harry laughed.
"Beat by a girl." He doubled over while Ron glared at him.
Suddenly, Draco walked in.
"Guys, I have to go. I'll see you later!" You whispered and ran off to Draco.
"Hello Draco!" You said cheerfully. He groaned.
"Why did your father make you follow me around? You're honestly annoying me to death." He complained.
"Well, sorry to be such a nuisance." You muttered. Draco didn't answer.
It seemed like hours before Draco got bored and went back to the Slytherin common room. Once he was out of sight, you walked back to Harry and Ron.
"How bad would it really be if you were caught?" Harry asked. He didn't understand why your father was so cruel, and how you were so nice.
"I'm not exactly sure, but my father has made my mother cry a lot. I don't know why, but I don't want to mess with him." You said solemnly. He pulled you into a hug.
When he let go, Ron came over.
"(Y/n), Hermione told us not to tell anyone, but I'm sure this will be okay. We are doing research, trying to figure out who Nicholas Flamel was. It has to do with whatever Fluffy is guarding." He said.
"Fluffy?" You ask. Harry looked at Ron, then grabbed your hand.
"We'll show you." He said, dragging you behind him.
You ended up at the Third Floor Corridor.
"What are you doing? This is forbidden!" You whisper harshly, looking to see if anyone was watching.
"Come on." Ron urged. He inched towards the door nervously.
"Alohomora." He unlocked the door. Behind it was a VERY large, three headed dog. Below its feet was a trap door. The dog got up and snarled, bolting towards you.
Harry shut the door quickly.
"Whatever is under that door is very powerful, and very dangerous. Snape wants it. But Hagrid mentioned something about Nicholas Flamel. Can you help us find out who that is?" Harry asked. You nodded.
They led you back out, and you went your separate ways. You went straight to the library to research this Nicholas Flamel.
