Chapter 31

"Quidditch tryouts today!" Harry says as you catch up with him on the way to her herbology.

"Yeah, I'll be there to watch. I can't believe my boyfriend is captain of the Gryffindor team." You joke, and he smiles.

"It's great! Did Ron tell you he was trying for Keeper?" Harry says.

"Oh really? I should tell Hermione." You laugh. Harry cracks up.

"I'm sure she already knows." He says, and the two of you burst into a fit of laughter.

"What is it now?" You hear Hermione come up behind you, making the two of you laugh harder.

"If you guys are laughing about me and Ron I swear-" Hermione starts.

"Sorry 'Mione." You say after finally calming down. She sighs.

"Well, Ron and Ginny are trying out for the team today, I hope they'll both make it." Hermione says. You smirk a bit, but decide not to tease her.

"Well Ginny was a brilliant seeker last year. I'm sure she'll be brilliant at chaser too." Harry says excitedly. You give him a look, but he doesn't notice. He talks about Ginny a lot...

"What about Ron?" You ask. Harry laughs.

"I have no idea. I guess we'll find out." Harry says.

You sit next to Hermione as Harry starts tryouts.

"So, do you think Ron will make the team?" You ask Hermione.

"I hope so." She says, not looking at you.

Ron was up first. He did well, and Hermione was smiling widely.

"Hermione, who's that?" You ask, pointing at the blonde boy staring at her.

"That's Cormac McLaggen. He's trying for keeper too." She answers. You watch him fly to take his turn as keeper, and he winks at Hermione.

"MIONE! He likes you!" You shriek, shaking her excitedly.

"Yes well, I don't return the feelings." She says. Then she places a hand over her mouth.
"Confundus." She whispers, without a wand.

"Did you just do wandless magic?" You ask, completely ignoring her cheating. She smiles.

"Yes, I've been practicing." She says, and the two of you laugh slightly as Cormac goes the wrong way and misses the quaffle.

"I'm telling Harry." You say. Hermione panics.

"No don't! I ruined tryouts, he'll kill me!" Hermione says.

"No, he was going to pick Ron anyway." You say. She sighs in relief.

"I hope Ron asks you out. He needs to get over his stubborn ways and admit his feelings." You say to Hermione.

"(Y/n), it doesn't matter." She laughs, but you could tell she was excited at the thought.

Professor Slughorn had invited you to a dinner, with Harry and Hermione. You walked with Harry, holding his hand.
