Chapter 6

The weeks went by, and soon, it was two days until the end of school. You were walking down the hall at the end of dinner with Draco and his friends. You were at the back of the group, rolling your eyes at Draco's bragging. Suddenly you felt someone tug at your wrist. You turned to see Harry, and he dragged you down the hall to see Hermione and Ron peeking out from under.... What?

"What on earth?" You ask, seeing only Hermione and Ron's faces.

"Oh, did I not tell you? I got an invisibility cloak for Christmas!" Harry smiled. You took a piece of the fabric in your hand gingerly.

"That's amazing." You breathed.

"Yes well can we hurry? Snape is after the stone!" Ron urged. They shoved you under the cloak and you walked together to the Third Floor Corridor.

You opened the door to see Fluffy fast asleep. You noticed a harp playing itself in the corner.

"That enchantment will wear off any minute. Let's hurry." You said. Together, you move Fluffy's gigantic paw off of the trap door. Suddenly the music stops, and you hear an aggravated growl.

"Go go go!" Harry said frantically, pushing you toward the trap door. All four of you were safely inside right as the dog pounced.
You landed on a mossy plant. You started to get up, and realized the plant was wrapped around your ankles tightly.

"Devils snare!" You say. You lie completely still and fall through the floor, closely followed by Hermione.
The boys were screaming your names and thrashing around.

"You have to stay completely still!" You say. Soon after, Harry falls through. Ron is in hysterics.
You groan. Hermione uses a spell and makes fire, and Ron comes crashing through the floor.

"I had that under control." He squeaks, and you laugh.

You walk down a hall and enter a room filled with a bunch of flying keys. Ron rushes to the door on the other side, and finds its locked.

"One of those keys opens the door." Hermione says. You spot it immediately.
"That one." You say, pointing to an old looking key with a bent wing. Harry grabs a broom, and all the keys attack him. Soon after, he gets the key and hits the ground. You unlock the door and slam it shut, hearing the keys hit the door.

"Merlins Beard!" Ron says in awe. You turn to see huge statues in ruins.

"It's wizards chess!" Hermione says in awe.

You and Ron look at each other as if to say 'easy'.

You and Ron assigned Harry and Hermione to their spots, and the two of you were knights. The game was not going well. It looked like you were going to lose, and it would be painful.

"I have to sacrifice myself." Said Ron. Hermione stomped her foot.

"Ron no!" She yelled. Ron ignored her.

"Harry, you have to be the one to catch Snape. Not me, not Hermione, you. When the queen takes me, you go and put the king in check mate, and we win." Ron said, and gulped.

"Knight to E5" he gulped. You watched in horror as the queen stabbed Ron's horse, and the horse crumbled, leaving Ron unconscious on the floor.

Hermione started to run towards him.

"Hermione no! We aren't finished yet!" You stopped her. She froze and stepped back in place.
Harry then went and won the game.

"Go!" Hermione said, kneeling next to Ron. You and Harry ran through the door to the next room. You smiled.

"Potions!" You said excitedly. Even though you didn't like Snape, potions was your favorite class. You ran to the table.
"And a riddle!" You said, feeling very encouraged. Harry watched in awe as you worked through the riddle, eliminating the poisons and the useless potions. Finally, you came to a conclusion.

"This," you say, handing a vial to Harry, "will take you through those flames, hopefully where the stone is. And this one will take me back, and I'll help Hermione get Ron to the hospital wing. Are you sure you'll be alright?" You ask Harry. He nods.

"Thanks for the help." He smiles, and gives you a hug. You try not to blush and watch him drink the potion and walk safely through the flames. You then do the same.

"Okay Hermione, let's get Ron to the hospital wing." You say as you walk back into the other room. Together you drag Ron out, but you can't stop thinking about Harry.

"Oh dear! Oh dear!" Madame Pomfrey was rushing around, trying to heal Ron. You and Hermione were sitting next to Ron's bed, worrying. About a half hour passed and the doors to the hospital wing flew open, and there was Professor Dumbledore with an unconscious Harry in his arms. You gasp.

"What happened?" You panic, rushing over. Dumbledore smiled slightly.

"He will be okay. He just had an encounter with You-Know-Who." He explained.

"WHAT?" You shriek, and Madame Pomfrey gives you a stern look as Ron stirs in his sleep.

"Out you two. You can see your friends in the morning." Madame Pomfrey pushes you and Hermione out the door.

Harry and Ron healed quickly, and soon enough you guys were on the train back. Of course, you had to sit with Malfoy, but when he was preoccupied with his friends you snuck out to say bye to your friends, since you wouldn't have a chance at King's Cross.

"I'm so glad I met you guys." You smile at the three of them, and hug each one.

You blush slightly as you get to Harry.

"Promise you'll write to me?" He whispers. You pull away and smile.

"Of course. See you all next year!" You say and walk back to your compartment. You were already counting the days until school started again.
