Christmas

It's been three years since Neal went to jail. Emma and Killian are now half way through their senior year of college.

*Emma's POV *

I'd never been big on holidays, finding them pointless when there wasn't anyone to share them with, but Killian loved Christmas. He'd set up a tiny Christmas tree in our bedroom, and put bells on the front door, and lights all over the place. Though I wasn't a fan of that stuff, it was adorable to watch him.

"You know it's just you and me, right?" I laughed a little, sitting in the middle of the bed watching him. "Everyone else went home yesterday."

"I know," he said as he fixed the lights and came to sit next to me. "But you said you'd never really had a Christmas before we met so I like to make sure you get them."

"You're really sweet," I kissed his cheek. "But you don't have to keep doing that."

"Yes I do," he said, pulling me closer. "You deserve at least one good holiday in your life."

"It'll be perfect," I smiled a little, putting my hand on his cheek. "As long as I get to spend it with you."

"Always," he said softly, leaning his forehead on mine for a moment before pressing his lips to mine gently.

I slid my hand to the back of his neck, kissing him more deeply as he pulled me into his lap. I was the first to pull away, keeping my forehead on his.

"I've gotta go," I said quietly and he whined, holding me tighter. "I have to find a gift for you before I go crazy. You're impossible to shop for."

"All I want is you," he smirked, pushing me back on the bed and hovering over me as I giggled. "I have everything I could ever want right here in front of me."

"Idiot," I giggled but he silenced me with another deep kiss. He pulled away, looking down at me as I smiled up at him. I saw something change in his eyes and his smile grew. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I just," he shook his head, never taking his eyes off me. "Decided something."

"Decided what?" I asked with confusion.

"You'll see soon," he smiled softly. "Just remember that I love you."

"I love you too?" I laughed a little. "But I do need to go if I'm ever going to get you a gift before Christmas."

"No fun," he pouted and I kissed him quickly before sliding out from under him and he flopped onto the bed. "Can I at least drive you?"

"Nope," I said as I pulled on my boots and my jacket. "You'll be fine for an hour or two."

"I'll find something to do," he smiled with a bit of mischief in his eyes as he came to wrap his arms around me, resting his hands on my butt. "Just don't go finding some other guy at the mall."

"We've been together for three and a half years," I said, putting my hands on his chest and looking up at him. "I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. And besides, there's no way I'd ever find someone as amazing as you at the mall."

"Well would it hurt to say that once in a while?" He teased and I learned up to kiss him deeply, pulling him down by his collar to deepen it even more.

He groaned, pressing me into him hard as he kissed me back. His fingertips dug into my sides as he pushed me towards the bed but I pulled away.

"I'll be back later," I whispered breathlessly but he just kissed along my jaw and down my neck. "Killian, I've gotta go."

"No," he whined, kissing along my collar bone. "Stay here with me. Let me have you for Christmas."

"You're far too convincing," I sighed and he grinned, kissing me again as we fell onto the bed.

*Killian's POV *

I'd just left Liam's apartment, driving back towards the dorms with my mother's wedding ring in my pocket. I was hoping to get back before Emma so I could do this today, but I had an idea of how to do it even if she beat me.

I glanced down at the familiar diamond, grinning until I looked up. Before I could even breathe, my truck collided with an all too familiar yellow bug.
