* Killian's POV *
I had a few weeks off before I had to go back to work and I spent every moment of it with my girls. I finally got to know my daughters a bit more every day, and they were completely amazing. Everything Emma had told me was true, but she'd been right when she said it was so much better learning it on my own. Mia was never bored, always having something in her mind she wanted to do or say, but Julie was shy just like Emma had been when we first met. She was just as happy to just sit quietly with Emma or I as she was to follow Mia in whatever she was doing and they were adorable together.
We spent every day as a family and every night just me and my Swan. It almost felt like college the way we couldn't seem to keep our hands off each other and I loved it. Nothing could make up for time we lost, but we were damn well going to try. We were getting ready for the Independence Day party at my boss's house when I started thinking about what Steve had said about losing their spark.
She was just getting ready to go, still only in one of my shirts while she did her makeup with her hair still a mess. But to me she was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen, I couldn't imagine ever losing the spark we had. I didn't even realize I was staring at her until she said something, her cheeks going red.
"Killian?" She said and I snapped back to reality. "Were you planning to get ready today, or just stare at me all morning?"
"Sorry, love," I half smiled, getting up to get my uniform on. "Guess I just got lost in my thoughts. Didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
"You didn't," she said simply and I soon felt her hands on my bare sides, her lips brushing my back. I smiled a bit, turning around to wrap my arms around her. "What were you thinking about anyway?"
"Nothing," I shook my head, trying to dismiss her question. "Just how beautiful my wife is and how much I wish we didn't have this party today."
"Ah, no you don't," she stopped me when I sat down on the edge of the bed, climbing onto my lap to straddle my lap with her hands on my chest and mine on her hips. "I know you better than that. That may have been in the back of your mind, but it's not what was bothering you. So what is it?"
"You know me too well," I sighed, studying her eyes and treasuring every bit of love in them when she looked at me. "It was just something Steve said at the pool a few weeks back, about how he and his wife lost their spark after their daughter was born. I just... can't imagine that happening to us like that. We had our bit of trouble after the accident but..."
"Then what's wrong?" She asked, stopping me from shaking my head by putting her hand on my cheek. "If you know that could never happen to us then why is what he said bothering you?"
"Because what if it did?" I asked, honestly horrified at the thought. "The last few weeks have been absolutely perfect and every person I've met has commented on how in love we still are, and they're right I love you beyond reason... but we don't know how in love these people were before and then one day everything just changed. They still love each other but they're not in love anymore, and the thought of that happening to us terrifies me."
"Oh, Killian, it won't," she assured me as my head fell forward, running her fingers through my hair with my forehead on her chest. "We won't let it. I'm so in love with you it borders on insanity and the way I love you is never going to change." She pulled my hair gently to lift my head and rest my forehead on hers, making me meet her eyes. "Nothing, and I mean nothing is going to change how I feel about you."
"I love you so much," I whispered, moving one of my hands to her hair to pull her lips to mine. She moaned softly in surprise at how deeply I kissed her but wasted no time in kissing me back, her hands sliding to the sides of my neck with her fingers in my hair.
*Emma's POV *
Once we pulled away from each other I finished getting ready, pinning my curls over one shoulder and slipping on my heels. Ruby and Liam were both coming to watch the girls, they just didn't know it yet. I had been trying for weeks to find a way to get them together and this was the first step in my plan. Ruby was already here, and Liam would be in about an hour.
"Are you sure about this, Swan?" Killian asked me as I buttoned his uniform for him and rested my hands on his chest. "Why don't you just let them be?"
"Because they're both too stubborn for that," I said simply. "They're both getting too old for this ridiculous loner act. I know they can make each other happy, they just need a little push."
"If you say so," he sighed, sliding his hands around my waist and pulling me closer. "But I hope you know my brother's going to kill me for this."
"Only at first," I smiled, stretching up on my toes to kiss him softly. "Now come on. We don't want to be late."
We said goodbye to the girls and Ruby, taking the truck since it was just the two of us. He pulled me close and gave me a light kiss, making me smile as he backed out of the driveway. We walked into his boss's house hand in hand, following the flow of people to the backyard.
"There you two are!" Stacy greeted us, giving me a quick hug as her now husband John came up behind her. "We were wondering when you'd get here."
"Life with toddlers," I joked as Killian's arm slid around my waist to pull me back to him. "I'm sure you two will find out soon enough. How've you been? It's been forever."
"Oh my gosh, I know," she gushed. "We actually are trying to have a baby, but it's been way harder than I thought it would be."
"Believe me, I know," I sighed and we went on to talk about that whole process. Our group slowly grew and Killian moved behind me, both his arms around me and my hands in his as he talked to the men around us. Most of them left as the night wound down, having to call cabs because of how much they drank.
"Let's go home," Killian whispered in my ear as the sun disappeared, his breath smelling of alcohol. "I want to have my way with you and there's far too many people around right now."
"You're drunk," I giggled, a bit tipsy myself. He started to kiss along my shoulder and up my neck, making me sigh and bite my lip. "Babe, stop. Be patient."
"God, you guys are gross," a very drunk Stacy said as John caught her in his arms. "Its probably bad that I envy that but oh well."
"Okay, I think it's time to get you home," John sighed, scooping her up and looking at me. "It was really nice to see you again. We should get together soon."
"Definitely," I nodded and he left me to Killian. "Alright, Captain, let's get you home."
"Its about bloody time," He smirked and hung on me as I walked to the truck, laying down in my lap as I drove home. "Mmm you're comfy."
"I'm sure," I laughed lightly, running my fingers through his hair as I drove. He was snoring by the time we pulled into the driveway, allowing me to slip out and go to his side to help him out of the truck. "Come on, babe, time for bed."
He leaned on me heavily as I led him into the house where we found Liam and Ruby asleep together on the sofa. I smiled to myself, shaking my head and bringing Killian to the bedroom where he fell on the bed. I changed into my pajamas and crawled onto the bed to help him out of his uniform.
"Hey, beautiful," he mumbled, rolling over on top of me after I'd gotten him undressed and wrapping his arms around me with his head on my chest. "Let's make a baby. We make great babies, we need more."
"They're wonderful, but I think we're set with the two for now," I smiled, feeling him sigh and nuzzle his face into my neck when I started running my fingers through his hair again. "Just go to sleep and if you remember this conversation, we'll talk more, okay?"
"Okay," he sighed, kissing my neck sloppily before getting comfortable on top of me. "Love you, Swan."
"I love you, too, Killian," I said quietly, now stuck in my thoughts about his comment about babies.
Okay, a more normal length chapter. I got a suggestion for a chapter, so I'm going to try to make that happen and obviously if any of you have suggestions, I'll definitely try to make it happen as well. I also really need to update my other stories, so we'll see. Anyway, enjoy! Later, loves!
