*Killian's POV *
I layed there for hours, holding Emma's hand as I waited for her to show signs of waking up. When the doctors finally came in to take the tube out of her throat, they brought my brother with them.
"Killian," he said, sounding relieved as he came to the other side of my bed. "Thank god you're not hurt. The doctors told me what's going on, though. Are you alright?"
"I will be if she is," I said quietly, looking back at Emma as the nurse started working. "Come on, Swan. You can do this. I'm right here, just open your eyes. We're supposed to get married and have our own messed up little life, remember? Please, please open your eyes, Emma, please."
I'd started to cry again, trying to be gentle as I held her hand in mine. I felt Liam's hand on my shoulder as I watched them work. She choked as the tube came out and my breathing all but stopped.
*Emma's POV*
The last thing I remembered was driving through an intersection on my way home. I looked over and saw headlights not two feet from me, barely having time to scream before all I could feel was pain.
Everything was dark but I suddenly I felt a sharp pain coming up my throat, choking as something was pulled from my mouth. I squeezed my eyes shut before letting them flutter open and hearing a quiet sob. I felt a hand in mine, looking from the ceiling over to see Killian in a hospital bed next to me crying.
"Killian?" I choked out, swallowing hard and trying again. "What happened? What's wrong?"
"We'll give you some privacy," someone else said quietly and everyone left, leaving Killian to explain what happened.
"Emma, I'm so sorry," he sobbed. "I looked down for a second and when I looked back up you were right there and I couldn't stop."
"It's okay," I said, squeezing his hand. "I'm fine now. Just calm down and come over here."
He looked at me questioningly and I tugged on his hand a bit until he understood. He put the rails down on the sides of our beds that touched and moved closer to me. I layed my head on his chest and his arms wrapped around me.
I was in an immense amount of pain laying like that, but I needed to be with him. I looked up and pulled him down to me, pressing my lips to his gently. I felt his tears hit my face as he relaxed and kissed me back carefully. I held the back of his neck, kissing him more deeply until I had to breathe.
"See?" I whispered, making him meet my eyes. "I'm okay and I'm right here. Just breathe."
He nodded, kissing my forehead and leaning his cheek on the top of my head. I soon heard him snoring softly, a nurse coming in a few minutes later. She looked shocked to see us that way, coming to check the monitor next to me.
"You really shouldn't lay like that," she said quietly, adjusting things a bit. "You're probably in a lot of pain and you could open your stitches."
"Please don't make him move," I pleaded with her. "I can't sleep without him and he needs this so badly."
"Let me check your incision," she sighed, lifting my gown and moving the long bandage down my stomach. I winced when she touched my skin, making Killian's arms tighten. "Are you sure you don't want us to make him move? You're obviously in pain."
"No," I said quickly. "Please let him stay. It makes me feel better to have him close."
"Fine," she gave in. "But I'm upping your pain meds so you might get pretty drowsy and please just try not to move too much."
"Thank you," I relaxed a bit. "Can you tell me how he really is? If I ask him he'll just say he's fine."
"He's a lot better than you are," she sighed, sitting at the end of my bed as she talked. "His bleeding was minor so we fixed that laproscopically and he's doing really well. You, however, flatlined multiple times and they had to open you up. You should be okay in a week or two as long as you stay stable."
"Wow," I breathed out, swallowing hard. "I-okay. So, I can go home soon?"
"It shouldn't be more than a week or two," she nodded. "But you'll be on bedrest for a while after."
"Alright. And before he asks," I glanced at Killian but she read my mind.
"You can be as physical as you can handle once you go home," she smiled a little. "Go by your pain. Oh, and there's one other thing I didn't tell you."
"What is it?" I asked, so panicked neither of us noticed Liam coming into the doorway. "Is something else wrong?"
"I don't know if you knew, but... you were pregnant," she said quietly. "But I'm afraid we couldn't save the baby with all your injuries."
My eyes grew wide, tears slipping down my cheeks as I stared at her in shock. Liam cleared his throat and I looked up, the nurse leaving quietly. He came to sit next to me, taking the hand that was on my stomach.
"Its okay," he said softly, holding my hand in both his as I stared at him in tears. "It'll be okay. You don't have to tell him unless you want to. Just breathe, okay?"
"Kay," I nodded, trying to swallow my tears as he squeezed my hand.
"You're going to be fine," he assured me. "You and Killian are fine, and one day if you decide to, you'll be parents. For now, you just need to heal and be happy. So try to get some sleep and I'll be here if either of you needs anything."
I nodded, soon falling asleep with Killian's arms around me and my hand in Liam's.
