*Killian's POV *

Emma was asleep in my arms late into the next morning, wrapped around me with her head on my chest. I heard Ruby waking up on the other side of the room, but my eyes were fixed on Emma.

"How are you awake already?" Ruby groaned, rolling over to face us. "Do you wake up just to watch that girl sleep?"

"Maybe," I smirked a little, running my fingers through Emma's hair. "She wakes up no sooner than nine, so I set an alarm for eight just in case I don't wake up before that."

"Seriously?" She asked in disbelief. "You honestly set an alarm to watch your girlfriend sleep? That'd be really creepy if I didn't know you so well."

"Yeah well," I smiled. "I didn't even sleep last night because I wanted to watch her. I just really missed her and I-"

"I know," she cut me off. "I've lived with her for the last month. Believe me, I know. I didn't even know she could be that bitchy before that."

"Well," I chuckled, trying not to jostle Emma too much. "She's definitely got attitude. But I find it quite adorable."

"Well I should hope so," she sighed as she sat up. "You're the one who's going to have to live with it for the rest of your life." I looked at her questioningly and she laughed. "Come on. Like you don't know you're going to marry her?"

"Well-"

"You've been together for almost five months now," she said, going behind her curtain to get dressed. "You gave her a promise ring after a month. She gave up her virginity for you. You've already been to hell and back together. You can't tell me that you haven't thought about marrying her."

"Well, I mean yeah, but," I stuttered as she came back, staring at me. "We're freshmen in college, and it's only been five months, and there's no way she'd be ready for that."

"So what happens when she gets pregnant?" She asked so matter of fact that I was speechless. "You guys are all over each other, all the time. It's bound to happen. So what's your plan?"

I opened my mouth to answer but Emma groaned and I froze as she stretched and slumped back into me. Ruby gave me an awkward smile and walked out.

*Emma's POV *

I groaned as I woke up, cuddling into Killian's chest. I didn't even bother opening my eyes, leaning up to kiss him. He kissed me back but he was tense so I opened my eyes, seeing him caught up in his thoughts.

"Killian?" I said softly, concerned as I sat up a bit. "What's wrong? What's on your mind?"

"Nothing," he said automatically, not even looking at me. "I'm fine."

I didn't believe him in the slightest, but I was still half asleep. I kissed him again softly but this time he actually flinched and I pulled away. I didn't understand, swallowing back tears.

"I-I'm sorry," he stuttered, getting up. "I'm sorry, Emma, I can't."

He walked out and I just sat there in shock, slowly starting to cry. Ruby came in and I'd become a ball against my headboard, weeping silently as I stared at the door.

"Emma?" She said, concerned as she rushed to sit on my bed. "What happened? What's wrong?"

I didn't even answer, just crying harder. She called Mary Margaret in and I was vaguely aware of her telling her to stay with me before she stomped out the door.

*Killian's POV*

I was pacing in my brother's living room with him staring at me as I repeated the phrase what did I do.

"Brother, stop," Liam stepped in front of me but I just went around him. "Tell me what happened."

"I can't have a baby. I can't get married. I'm not even twenty years old. I just started college," I started to ramble, getting more angry at myself. "But she didn't say anything about any of that. She was just sleeping. Ruby said that."

"Killian!" He yelled over me and there was a loud knocking on the front door before he could say anything else. He opened the door and Ruby stormed in.

"What did you do?!" She practically screamed, getting in my face. "She is bawling on her bed, refusing to even move her eyes from the door you walked out of!"

"I panicked, okay?!" I started pacing again, running my hands through my hair in frustration. "You started asking about all this stuff that I'm nowhere near ready for! Five months and you're talking about mine and Emma's kids! Thoughts and hopes are one thing but..."

"I have no filter, remember?!" She yelled back. "I say whatever comes to mind, you know that! Emma hasn't even talked about that stuff to me and she tells me everything. You guys are on the same page, honestly. I was just talking."

"She hasn't?" I asked quieter, stopping to look at her. "She didn't say anything about this stuff to you?"

"No," she sighed. "She's done the usual gushing about spending her life with you, but every girl in love does that. Now she's just hurt and confused."

"Shit," I sighed, sitting down. "I screwed up so bad. She kissed me and I just froze, and now she probably hates me."

"Just go talk to her," she pointed at the door. "I didn't see your car but I'll drive you. I'll even get Mary Margaret out of there so you guys can be alone. It's been over a month, I don't see her being quiet."

I smiled a little, grabbing my jacket and followed her out.
