CHAPTER 24 We Find The First Sign Of Hope

We woke up and it had finally stopped raining. I was hoping that it would have stopped raining. I had hoped that it would have stopped raining earlier yesterday but instead it just rained harder! Talk about bad luck. Then it stopped raining so we tried to walk around but it was just to muddy to walk. So we went back to the building and walked in just as it started pouring rain yet again. So we chose to stay there for the night.

I looked at the little tablet that Hunnigan texted me off of and I had like 20 messages from her. They all asked if we had found Irving yet. I answered no to about 5 of them before I got bored. Kaleb was outside seeing if the roads were to muddy. He walked back in the building and his shoes were covered in mud.

"It's still to muddy to walk. You could barley get a car through those dirt roads. We are stuck here until the roads dry out." Kaleb explained to me.

"That could take a few hours. That's if it doesn't start raining again." I said as Kaleb sat next to me.

"Than what are we supposed to do? I mean we were supposed to be at this adress two fucking days ago lyric!" Kaleb shouted.

"Chill out Kaleb we'll figure something I out." I replied giving him a hug.

Kaleb hugged me back and kissed me on the cheek.

"I know we are two days late. But I'm sure that we can figure something out." I said to him.

He nodded and sat on the ground. I sat next to him just as the pitter patter of rain drops started again. Kaleb crawled over to the door and cracked it open. I could hear that it wasn't raining very hard. He closed the door and crawled back over to me. He smiled and put his head in my lap.

"Let's hope that this blows over quickly. As soon as it stops raining we'll start walking. We can't a little mud stop us." I sighed.

"Alright! A never mud never hurt anyone!" Kaleb said excitedly.

I giggled at how Kaleb can make any situation sound better. Weather your just in a bad mood or you have to run the mile at school. He can make anything sound exciting and he can make you happy no matter what your mood is.

(__)__(__) AN HOUR LATER (__)__(__)

The rain finally stopped so we grabbed our swords and slipped our hoodies on. We walked out of the building and down the stairs. It was pretty muddy but my knee high converse were already covered in blood and guts so why not add mud to the disgusting mix. We were practically running through the mud so we wouldn't sink down into it. It was almost like quick sand. We finally got to a concrete spot and I saw a little pharmacy. I walked into it and started looking around.

I looked at some of the medication and I found some Zombrex. I looked at the ingredience and then put it in my pocket. I heard Kaleb calling for me and then walked out of the little pharmacy. I could tell it was starting to rain again so we stayed in the pharmacy.

Looks like a little hope for this world has been found. 1 bottle of zombrex! Maybe I can make a copy of this. A little bit of hope has been shined upon us today! Finally. Something good might actually happen....
