Chapter 29 - The Cure Has Been Found
Kaleb and I have been driving for a few hours looking for a place where Jacob Blackk might be. I really want to find this guy so Kaleb and I can get the cure and find a way to get it to everyone in the world who has been infected. Maybe we can figure out how this guy got it around the world. This isn't one of those outbreaks that it started with 1 person getting infected and spreading it around the entire world. This has to be a gas or some sort of liquid. Maybe it was put into some water lines and people drank it and next thing they know they are eating the flesh off of their neighbors.
"Lyric are you alright?" Kaleb asked breaking me out of my thought.
"Yea I'm fine. Just thinking about this whole cure thing." I smiled.
"We will find the guy and get the cure. If we don't I think we are going to both kill ourselves." Kaleb laughed.
"Or I'll get myself bitten and wait for someone else to get the cure." I said looking out the window of the car.
I was looking out the window when I saw a hord of zombies surrounding a small house. "Kaleb pull over there might be a survivour or something over in that smal house." I said pointing to it.
He pulled over and we each grabbed a metal bat out of the back. We hopped out of the car and walked over to the horde. We both hit every other zombie saw. After what felt like hours of bashing zombie skulls in we finally reached the house. A bunch of guys. One almost shot me! I snatched the pistol out of the guys hand and just shot all that I could before I heard the dreaded click telling me I was out of bullets.
I heard a click after click behind me. Each of those boys had run out of bullets. I threw my bat at one of the kids and grabbed the sword that was in my belt loop. I started slicing off zombie heads which cause blood some little bone frabments to fly. Lucky for me the bone chips flew backwords or off to the side. The blood just trickled down. It wasn't even red! It was like a blackish color.
"We have to get out of here we can't stay and fight! Theres to many!" Kaleb yelled. I nodded and signaled the boys to follow us.
Kaleb and I bolted. The 3 boys followed close behind us.When we got to the car Kaleb unlocked the doors and everyone got in. For some reason most people who survived were mine and Kalebs age.
I learned quickly that people who couldn't run that fast like nerds were first to go. The fat people lasted longer than I had suspected. I guess running to save your food or running because you see food helps in the long run. Cheerleaders were next to go. Being flexable doesn't help when your being chased by a zombie who just wants to tear you limb from limb. And Finally the last people to go are the smart people like Kaleb, these 3 boys, and me. We know how to shoot, aim, save ammo, save food and water ect.
"Who are you people?" The boy who I took the pistol from asked.
"I'm Lyric. That's Kaleb." I replied cleaning off the blade of my sword while Kaleb drived.
"Your fucking badass." A boy with blonde hair said.
"We've been fighting these things since this outbreak started. So weve been at this a few months" Kaleb explained.
"I'm Shane." The blonde one said.
"I'm Dylan." The 3rd boy said.
"Jerry." The one I took the pistol from said.
I smiled to myself. Cute names if I do say so myself. I wonder how long they have been fighting the outbreak? I know it would be kinda rude to ask beause no one really wants to talk about it. So I just kept my mouth shut.
"It's been tough for us too. There was one point where we didn't have anything to fight with." Jerry said.
"How did you guys get out here to Africa?" I asked. Simple question. Stick with simple question that won't won't bring up bad memories.
"We were all on a plane to Africa for a trip with the school when the outbreak started." Dylan explained.
"School trip to Africa?! What are you guys in a privet school or something?" Kaleb questioned.
"Yea. Our parents are....were filthy rich." Shane replied.
"That's cool. Well you guys can go to sleep if you want. We are going to be driving for a while and it's getting dark outside." I said to the guys.
They all nodded and closed their eyes. Hunnigan texted me:
Hunnigan:
Lyric. We have found the cure to the C-Virus. The cure is called Zombrex-C. The origonal Zombrex just kept the bite or scatch from turning you. Then Jacob Blackk inhanced it and called it Zombrex-C Because the virus is the C-Virus. Find Jacob Blackk and cure the world! HURRY!!
The cure has been found. I showed Kaleb the text and we both started smiling like idiots.
JACOB BLACKK IM COMING AFTER YOU! AND I WILL GET THE ZOMBREX-C. THE CURE THE C-VIRUS!!!!!

WHAT! The cure has been found!!! I know it's sad. This story is coming to an end. There will be no 2nd book sorry! But I hope you enjoy it while it lasts!!
