Gerald POV

 

Nag-usap lang naman kami ni Jason. Hindi raw niya sinasabi na itigil ko ang pagporma ko sa kapatid niya pero sa totoo lang daw ay ayaw niya pang may umaaligid dito kasi ayaw niyang masaktan. As if naman na mambababae pa ulit ako.

Eto ako ngayon umiinom sa bar. Wala akong pakialam kung minor de edad ako o ano dahil sa akin itong bar na ito at saka nasa tamang edad na ako para uminom ng alak at magpakalasing.

Iniisip ko yung nangyari kanina makes me realized na gustong-gusto ko si Kathryn ay mali, mahal ko na pala siya at lalo ko pa siyang minamahal at ito yung kinatatakot ko. Oo, nagbabago ako para maging karapat-dapat para kay Kathryn pero natatakot din ako kasi ayokong mangyari yung nangyari sa akin apat na taon ng nakakalipas.

 

*Flashback*

 

"I love you." I told her.

"So am I, Gerald." She told me and she gives me a peck on my cheek before she left because she needs to go home.

She's my girlfriend, her name is Bernadette Santiago. She's pretty, smart, and tall person. She's the daughter of the most prominent family here in Europe and there company is one of the best in Europe and in the Philippines that is why most of the guys are courting her and I am lucky that I am the one she picks to be her boyfriend.

When I spotted that Bernadette is gone I walk towards my car. I do have a driver because I am still a minor but when I look at the car there is no driver to be found. I tried to search for him and I saw him he was talking to someone else that is why I stayed by the car.

They both look at me after a few minutes that I am here and they went to me. I realize that it is one of Bernadette's friends. I don't know her name because I always forgot her name was.

"Hey." I greeted her.

"Could we talk? I mean in private? I couldn't take this anymore. I need to tell it to you." She said.

"All right let us go inside of my car and let us talk there privately." I said and we both entered my car.

"What do you want to talk about?"

"Bernadette is just using you so that there company will be reach number one." She said.

"Don't lie to me."

"I am not lying. Why would I lie? In the first place you know that I like you for Bernadette but this is too much."

 

 

After we talk, she leaves my car crying. I didn't mind what she told me but days goes by I got curious why Bernadette always asking me to went out with her but when we are together she's always asking me to how's the company.

That's makes me curious that is why I went to the company. I don't need any appointment to meet my own father. That is how they love me, they never leave me. I open the door a little and I hear my father talking.

 

"Yes sir. It is confirmed." A guy voice said and I know that is the company's spy. I heard my father sighed.

"They are using Bernadette to get what they want. But my son loves her." I heard my father said that is why I went to the office without them noticing.

"Gerald!" My father said to me. His eyes are wide due to shock.

"So it is true, she is just using me?" I ask them.

"Yes, my son." My father said to me with his hands on his head and his elbow is at the table.

"Why you didn't stop me from courting her or why you didn't stop our relationship?"

"Because you love her and I am willing to give up everything for my son's happiness." He said and the tears I am fighting not to fall, already fall. All along my father knows that Bernadette is only using me but it is they didn't stop me because he loves me.

"No! I will never going to let you do that! Do you think I will be happy that she's using me to get the company? Anyone will never going to get the company my father's second home and soon to be my second home." I said and I leave the company.

I need to finish this as soon as possible. I went immediately to the hotel where Bernadette is staying and because the guards already knew me they didn't stop me to go to the penthouse.

Just before I knock on the door I saw the door opened and Bernadette is on the door. She was shock to see me but she smile and about to hug me but I push her away.

 

"How dare you, you used me just to get what your company wants?! I love you but that's what you did?!" I said to her. I saw that she was about to touch me again but I move back. "Don't touch me! I tell you this. The company will never going to be yours or to anyone else." I said and I leave her.

Months after what happened I still can't move on. I can still feel the pain that is why my only solution is to have girls every single day. Until one day, Bernadette went to my house and explains that at first that is her duty but later on she loves me but I didn't listen to her.

Every day she keeps visiting my house just to tell to me to give her a second chance but I don't want to give her a second chance.

Due to my irritation towards her and due to my mother's request to have a fresh start, I've decided to go to the Philippines. The day I will leave, I saw Bernadette again in front of my house and she is begging for mercy. She is also begging me to be back to my old self but I tell her one thing before I went to my car.

"I will only be back to myself again, if someone will love me not because of money or someone asked them to love me but she love me because of who am I."

*End of Flashback*

Ayokong mangyari iyon ulit, ayokong mangyari sa akin ulit iyon pero kay Kathryn. Mahal ko si Kathryn mas mahal ko siya kaysa kay Bernadette. At sobra kong tanga bakit kasi ako natatakot na gawin sa akin yun ni Kathryn. Hindi nga niya alam kung gaano kayaman ang pamilya ko. Hindi nga niya alam ata tungkol sa business puro mga damit lang ang inaatupag niya. At saka isa rin siyang Poe, ibig sabihin mayaman siya. Mayaman rin naman siguro ang mga Cupido kasi alam ko kasi sa Cupido's House of Fashion namilili si Mommy ng mga damit niya minsan.

Patuloy akong umiinom ng alak na nasa kamay ko ngayon. Sa bote na nga ako umiinom.

"Papatayin mo ba ang sarili mo sa pang-inom, Gerald?" Nakaringi ako ng boses ulit. Kahit saan ako pumunta naririnig ko ang boses na yan.

"Walang namamatay sa pag-iinom lang, Kathryn." Sabi ko at uminom ulit ng alak. "At umalis ka na nga dito baka magalit pa kuya mo sa akin."

"You really like me do you?" She asked me and she sits beside me.

"What do you think?"

"Ewan ko. Nagmumukha lang naman kasi akong tanga sa paghihintay sa iyo. Sobra kaya ginagawa kong paghihi –" Hindi ko na pinatapos ang sasabihin niya dahil alam ko na kung saan patungo yung mga sasabihin niya. Instead na making sa mga sasabihin niya ay hinalikan ko siya sa pangalawang beses sa labi. Pinaramdam ko sa kanya na sobra ko siyang mahal. Nahindi ko na kayang mawala siya, hinding hindi na. Handa na akong labanan yung takot ko.
