Birthday suprise and problems

Yesterday was a good day we meet Lazarus and he is a really good kid I can see that he's happy because of the way his blue eyes light up when he's around us it's been 5 days since we've seen him but we are getting him today and since yesterday was his birthday we all picked something out for him but I ordered some shoes and a monsters university varsity jacket it's so cute , but today Ricky Ariana's boyfriend dropped off Lazarus today and laz looked pretty sad so we asked him what's up

"hey laz are you feeling okay today" I said to him

"Well I guess" Lazarus said looking at the floor he's been like that since he got here and Luke is really worried

"Hey buddy come on you know that you can tell us anything " Luke said lifting Lazarus' head revealing a cut in his lip it looked fresh

"Lazarus who did this " Luke said with his voice kind of rising

"Umm I fell....yeah I fell" Lazarus said with tears filling his eyes

"Hey look at me right quick, Lazarus remember that promise we made the last time we talked so can you please tell me or your dad who did this or what happened " I said in a calm voice reassuring that he can tell us anything and I really do mean that when he came up to me

"Is it okay if I just tell you later really hurts" Lazarus said honestly

"Yeah do you want me to clean that up for you " I asked worried because that big of a cut can get infected

"Yes please " he said and I just picked him up and put him on the counter and graced the 1st aid kit . As I was cleaning it I thought that he might need stitches
But when I cleaned off all the blood it was an okay sized cut but it didn't need stitches which relived me to know that he wouldn't need stitches

"Thank you Lauren " Lazarus said with his eyes starting to glow up

"Can I tell you something but can you not tell my dad " he asked curiously

"Of course " I said smiling at him

"I'll tell him later I promise, okay so my mom went out of town and I had to stay with Ricky and he left me home at night time and this morning he got me and brought me her but in the car I asked him where did he go and he told me not to worry about it just lets talk about something else then I told him that I like when I come over here because I have fun and get to see my dad and then Ricky said that I was stupid and I said I was going to tell my mom that he was calling me names again and then he just hit me in my mouth" Lazarus said honestly I was shocked I can't believe that I just hugged him and he hugged me back crying

"Laz dose he do this a lot" I asked worriedly

"Kind of but only when my mom is out of town " Lazarus said

"Unmmm okay well just make  sure you tell your dad tonight ok" I said to him as he went to his room since they finished painting it 3 days ago

"Hey where's laz " Luke said

"Umm in his room " I told him

"Oh ok and Jr and Landon are setting up presents " Luke said as he was going up stairs

"Buddy you okay " Luke asked Lazarus
from the door way

"Dad umm I'm ready to tell you what happened " Lazarus said to Luke as we walked into his room

"Alright then " Luke said nervously as Lazarus to Luke the same thing he told me a while ago Luke was outraged so I pulled him a side to talk
