Thorin's POV:
I had been running around Erebor all day making sure everything was in order for the dinner. I had invited all the dwarves and I had informed the cooks, that had come from the Iron Hills, that there was to be a big buffet.
When everything was taking care of I went to my room and sat down on a chair. I leaned back and closed my eyes. I heard the door creaking and I opened my eyes. Dakota opened the door and walked into the room. She smiled at me and closed the door.
She took off her cloak and I saw a small part of her cloak was wet. "How did your cloak get wet?" I asked. Dakota looked at her cloak and hung it up. "I was sitting on the snow." She replied. "That isn't a very good idea, you know? You could get a cold." I said and she chuckled. "What?" I asked. "I just love how you care for me. No one has ever loved me like that." She said walked over to me. "That is because no one loves you as much as I do." I said and she chuckled again.
Dakota sat down on my lap and wrapped one arm around my neck. "That's probably true." She said and she kissed my cheek. "I love you too." She whispered and placed her head on my shoulder. I wrapped my arms around her middle and stroked her back. "Is everything arranged for tonight?" Dakota asked softly and I nodded in response. "Yes. All the dwarves are coming and the cooks are cooking the buffet." I said. "You're amazing, you know?" she said kissing my cheek again. "Thank you, love." I said and placed my hand on her belly. We both looked at her belly. "They've grown, haven't they?" I asked. "Of course they have." Dakota replied. We both chuckled and Dakota got off my lap. "When are we eating dinner?" Dakota asked. "This evening." I answered and Dakota just stared at me. "What time." She said and I laughed. "Around sundown." I said and she nodded. "I'll be in the library should you need me." Dakota said and walked out the door again.
I stood up and lay down on the bed and took a quick nap.
**********
I woke up and met Dakota' eyes. She was sitting on the bed and smiled down at me. "You're finally awake." She said. "How long did I sleep?" I asked. "I don't know but our dinner is starting soon. I recon you have about an hour so I thought I should wake you up." Dakota said and I smiled. "Thank you, love." Dakota stood up and looked through the few dresses she had taken with her. She dressed herself in a flowing lose light blue dress. She brushed her long hair and braided the front parts to the back of her head. She caught me staring at her. "If you stay where you are, you might be late." She said. I chuckled and got off the bed.
I got ready and when I sat down in a chair Dakota immediately pulled my back up. "Come." She said but I stayed where I was. "We have 15 more minutes. Don't worry, we'll be on time." I said. "But I want to go already." Dakota argued. "Just wait one more moment." I said and she calmed down. She sat down on the bed and I sat down next to her. "Do you miss your mother?" I asked out of the blue. I saw Dakota was surprised by my question. "Yes I do but I know she'll be her soon enough." She replied and I kissed her temple. "She will be." I whispered. "Come on, let's go to the dining room." I said getting up. I took Dakota's hand and we walked to the dining room.
I opened the door and I sat down on the head of the table. Dakota also sat down and not much later the door opened and the dwarves walked in. Balin sat in front of Dakota. Next to him was Dwalin. Fili and Kili sat down next to Dakota. The others also sat down. Even Bilbo and Gandalf had come and I saw that Dakota was smiling widely. The food was brought in by the cooks.
Before anyone started eating I stood up with my glass in my hand. "I want to say a few words before we start eating!" I said and everyone fell silent.
