Dakota's POV:

While I was walking back home my heart rate returned to normal and I cooled down. My cheeks got their natural colour back. What just happened? Why did I act this weird? I only feel like this when I'm with him. When I look at him so deeply like I had done before. His eyes. His voice. His face. I reached the door of my house. I opened it and entered. "Mother! Mother where are you?" she didn't reply. Strange. She wasn't supposed to leave the house. I looked around in our house, but I couldn't find her.

I looked out of a window and stared into our little garden. There, on a bench, I saw my mother. I sighed. I walked outside into our garden. "Mother, I almost reported you as lost." I joked. "Well, you are correct. Lost. Lost in my mind." I smiled. "How are you feeling?" "You know the usual. Sick and heartbroken." I sighed. My mother was heartbroken because of my father. And not to long ago the doctors diagnosed her with an illness. If I don't care for her she is sure to die. I have to make sure she eats at least three times a day and that she takes a bath. Now I don't have to bathe her or anything. Just making sure she has one. I have to make sure she goes to bed on time. "Dís was very pleased with your dress." I said trying to cheer her up a bit. She looked at me. "That's good to know." She said with a smile. I nodded and stood up. I walked back inside a started to make dinner.

When I was done I called her. We had dinner and after that I got ready. While I was looking trough my dresses I remembered what Dís told me earlier today. "Just be yourself okay?" I put away my dresses. I walked over to my mirror. I put my dark blond hair in a messy bun. I put on a little bit of eye pencil. I smile at myself in the mirror. This'll do. I turn around and walk to our kitchen/living room. "Alright mother, I'll see you later tonight or tomorrow. I'm not sure when I'll be back so don't wait for me. Okay?" my mother walked up to me and looked at me from head to toe. "You look gorgeous, my daughter." I started blushing. "I'll probably see you tomorrow morning. The royal family always eat for hours." My mother said. "Well, goodnight then. I love you." I gave her a kiss on her cheek. I picked up my cloak and walked outside.

There was a slight chill in the air and a small breeze. I wrap my cloak around myself. Then I hear something fall in the distance. I turn around. The streets aren't filled with people anymore. A lot of people are eating at this point of time. I turn back around and start walking, but then I hear the sound again. I turn around. "Hello? Hello is someone there?" when I don't get a reply I turn around. But there in front of me is standing a big creepy dwarf. He smirks at me, but it's this nasty smirk. "Good evening sir, can I help you?" I try to be polite. "And if you can. I think I will get very lucky tonight. And you will help me." The smirk on his face grows. "I'm sorry sir, but I have to go. I have to run some errands." I walk past him but he grabs my wrist and slams me against a hard stonewall.

"What are you going to do with me?" I ask with a shaking voice. "You'll see little girl." He presses me against the wall and his face is very close to mine. His breath stinks like it's rotten or something. He was about to kiss me when a hard firm voice commands behind him. "Let her go or you will regret it!" his grip loosens and I fall to the ground crying. Two guards walk our way and restrain the dwarf. They take him away. I thought I was alone but then I feel a firm hand on my shoulder from a dwarf crouching in front of me. I tens up, I haven't seen the face of my rescuer yet. My head was in my hands and I was crying. "Kota, are you okay?" the voice asks.

There was only one dwarf who has that voice, the voice that always gives me a warm feeling in my stomach. The voice I love the most. I look up at the face of my rescuer. As I predicted it was Thorin. I hug him. He almost falls backwards because of the surprise hug, but then he puts his arms around my waist and caresses my back. It feels like a massage. I stop crying and just sit there in the arms of Thorin. I pull away "Maybe we should go to the dining room or else they get mad at me for being late." He chuckles and stands up. He holds out his hand. I grab it and he pulls me up. A dear Aulë! He's so strong!
