Daerien's POV:

Gimli and I reached Rivendell with two other dwarves. We were greeted by an elf and he led us to the room we would stay in. After I dropped my stuff in the room I went to search for my grandfather.

As I walked through the corridors I passed a study. I briefly looked through the open door and caught the glimpse of grey ropes. I stopped to see if it was who I thought it was. I saw Lord Elrond and as I thought Gandalf was there as well.

I knocked on the door and the men looked at me. Gandalf immediately smiled. "Daerien! How are you, my child?" Gandalf asked and I smiled at him coming closer. "I'm doing great!" I said and Gandalf gave me a hug. I turned to Lord Elrond and quickly bowed for him. "Daerien, it's nice to meet you. Your grandfather always speaks of you but I haven't had the honor of meeting you yet." He said and I gave him a friendly smile. "Nor have I had the honor to meet you, My Lord." I said and Lord Elrond chuckled.

"Speaking of my grandfather, do you know where he is?" I asked and Lord Elrond nodded. "It isn't dark yet so he's probably still training the guards. If I were you I'd look at the training grounds." Lord Elrond said. "Thank you, I will go to him immediately." I said and said goodbye.

I reached the training grounds after I had asked for directions twice and lost the way three times. I don't really have a good sense of direction, like my father.

I saw a tall elf commanding a group of elves. It was Laindir my grandfather. I walked towards him and called his name. He turned around and smiled at the sight of me. I ran towards him and jumped into his arms. "Daerien! It's good that you're here!" He exclaimed and I giggled. "It's good to see you again!" I replied and I pulled away. "I'm very happy I can finally see Rivendell." I said and my grandfather smiled down at me. "You want to train?" Laindir asked and I nodded happily.

**********

I enter a study and ended up on a balcony with an open circle of seats. I sat down in one of them and Gimli sat down next to me. In no time all the seats were taken. I look around the circle of people. First you have Elrond with two elves sitting next to him. My grandfather is sitting next to one of the young elves. There was also a hobbit who sat next to Gandalf and then you had some elves, then us the dwarves and lastly a few men.

"Strangers from distant lands, friends of old. You've been summoned here to answer the threat of Mordor. Middle-Earth stands upon the brink of destruction, none can escape it. You will unite or you will fall. Each race is bound to this fate, this one doom. Bring forth the ring, Frodo." Lord Elrond said and the hobbit stood up. He placed the ring on a pedestal and he looked like a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders.

Frodo sat back down on his chair and everyone stared at the ring intently. A man with ginger colored hair stood up. "In a dream I saw the Eastern sky grow dark. But in the West a pale light lingered. A voice was crying doom was near its hand. Isildur's bane is found." The man reached for the ring and Gandalf and Elrond exchanged glances. "Boromir!" Elrond shouted. Gandalf started speaking a foreign language and the sky grew dark. "Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul." He said and when he stopped speaking the sky cleared.

Boromir sat down and he looked quite scared but I couldn't blame him. I was terrified. I had never seen Gandalf do this. "Never before has any voice uttered that tongue here in Imladirs." Elrond said a bit mad at Gandalf. "I do not ask your pardon, Master Elrond. For the Black Speech of Mordor may yet be heard in every corner of the West! The ring is all together evil!" Gandalf said to all of us and he sat down.

"It is a gift, a gift to the foes of Mordor. Why not use this ring? Long has my father, the Steward of Gondor, kept the forces of Mordor at bay. By the blood of our people are your lands kept safe. Give Gondor the weapon of the enemy, let us use it against him." Boromir said looking at all of us. "You cannot wield it, none of us can! The One Ring answers to Sauron only. It has no other master." A man with brown hair said. Boromir looked at the man. "And what would a ranger know of this matter?" Boromir asked rather rudely. "This is no mere ranger, this is Aragorn, son of Arathorn. You owe him you allegiance." A blond elf said standing up. Boromir looked at Aragorn surprised and so did the little hobbit. "Aragorn? This is Isildur's heir?" Boromir asked. "And heir to the throne of Gondor." The blond elf added. "Havo dad, Legolas." Aragorn said and Legolas did as he asked. "Gondor has no king, Gondor needs no king." Boromir said angrily sitting back down on his chair.
