Dakota's POV:

We stopped at a place next to a cliff. There was also this big rock with something that looked like a roof sticking out of it. Thorin started giving everyone a task and everyone started working. Bilbo, Gandalf and I were the only ones without a task. Gandalf sat against a big tree smoking his pipe and Bilbo was standing in the middle of the group of working dwarves. He was standing like a helpless child and I went over to him. "Come on! Why don't we go and look around the area?" I asked him. He looked quite pleased with my offer. "Yeah, that might be a good idea." He said. I walked over to Thorin. "Bilbo and I are going to look around the area." I said coolly. He looked at me with surprise written all over his face. "You're not going away from the camp. It could be dangerous." He said seriously. "Thorin I don't care what you have to say! I wasn't asking if I'm allowed to leave! I was just telling you so you wouldn't get panicked that all of the sudden we were gone!" I almost yelled at him. "We won't go far anyway and we'll be back in no time! If you wanted us to stay you should've given us a task to do!" I exclaimed. He looked flustered. "I... I can think of a task for you to do?" he offered. "No... you're too late. You should've done it earlier." I said and then walked away. Bilbo followed me and we walked into the woods where we came from our way here.

I was walking rather irritated and I saw that it made Bilbo a little uncomfortable. "Sorry Bilbo. I... was a little annoyed at Thorin I guess. It's just unfair to not include us, you know? I mean he could've asked us if we wanted to help but he didn't even consider it." I said. Bilbo started laughing. "What?" I asked confused. "Are you really mad about that? We didn't have to do anything! Isn't that a big luxury?" he exclaimed. I was as flustered as Thorin had been a minute ago. "Well... I just didn't want Thorin to make us look like a couple of helpless animals..." I said with a low voice. "I know but I don't think it will make us look like helpless animals. If he would've said this to us when we had to fight then we would've looked like helpless animals." He had a point. I sighed in frustration. I grabbed my knife from it sheath and threw it in a tree nearby with all my power. Bilbo's eyes widened. I walked over to the tree and pulled my knife out of the tree. "Almost the entire blade was in there!" Bilbo exclaimed in disbelief. I smiled. "Come on. Let's go back." I said to him and he nodded.

We reached our camp and they had prepared a nice fire. Bombur and Bofur were making dinner and I saw Thorin looking at the fire. His eyes were filled with pain. I walked over to him. "Thorin...?" he looked up to me. "Thorin... I am so sorry. I never meant to be so rude. I was just a little frustrated. Please forgive me." He smiled at me and pulled me into a hug. "It's alright. I understand... You have to handle a lot since your mom is so sick." He said into my hair. He pulled away. I looked over at Balin and saw him looking at us as if he was judging me.

I sat down by the fire and listened to Fili and Kili talking. "If we are done with this quest the girls better notice us!" Kili exclaimed. I laughed and the boys looked at me. "What?" they said in perfect unison. "Are you kidding me?! The girls love you!" they signed for me to go on. "I know that there is one girl in particular that has grown pretty fond of you Fili." Kili scoffed. Fili nodded. "And who may this fine lady be?" he asked me interested. "Her name is Faya and she is only a couple of years younger than you." I saw a smile forming on his face. "Is that the sister of the little girl you found?" he asked me and I nodded. Bilbo walked up with several plates filled with food for all of us. I smiled at him gratefully. I looked back at Fili and I saw that he looked pretty pleased with what I just said. Bilbo sat next to me enjoying his dinner. I felt my stomach growl and started eating as well. I was talking with Bilbo and he was telling me something about the Shire. Dori and Ori walked up to us. "Are you done with eating?" Dori asked us and we nodded. He took our plates and walked away. Ori was still standing in front of us. "Is there something you need, Ori?" I asked him. "I wanted to ask you if I could draw you with this view on the background?" he confessed. I immediately jumped up. "Of course you can!" I said excited. He smiled at me relieved. He walked off and I followed him.
