*ROSS' P.O.V*
I was finally there. At Sapphire's school. The school is shaped like a huge X. As I walked in, I understood it better. In the center of the school, there was a huge square area, and at each corner of the square, a wing of the school went out. A map was near the door that I came in through, the large center area was known as the Commons. I walked into the commons. On one wall of it there was a huge door with a sign reading "OFFICE" over it. Clockwise from that, the cafeteria. Across from the office, there were big doors marked as the Library. On the last side of the square, there were 2 huge double doors both labeled as The Auditorium.
"Well, now what am I supposed to do?" I thought aloud. If I go to the office and have them page Sapphire, I'll have to explain why. I have no idea what class she's in. And- suddenly there was a large amount of footsteps and talking. I looked around, and boom. On the other side of the commons, directly across from me, people started filling the wing. There had to be 200 people, my age, walking through. All going to the auditorium.
I couldn't see Sapphire in the crowd. I could see the jocks. I could see the quite nerds. I could even tell who was probably the school sluts. I was about to give up and ask for help, before I saw 3 people in the back of the pack.
A boy, about as tall as me, with Elvis styled black hair and thin-as-a-stick, had his arm around a girl. The girl who didn't have his arm around her was awkwardly talking to them. She had red hair that swung against her shoulder, even from here I could see her big brown eyes. The other girl, who the boy had his arm around, was, none other than, Sapphire Bold.
She was standing straight and awkward and staring at the ground. I could tell she didn't want to be with this boy. But I could see, Sapphire was wearing the R5 necklace and bracelets I gave her. I sighed, maybe she isn't as mad as I thought she is....
They went into the auditorium. Quickly, right before the door closed, I ran and slid in un-noticed. I saw Sapphire and the others sit down about halfway to the stage. I sat in the farthest seat back, near the aisle before I actually looked around.
It's been a long time since I've seen a stage from the point of view. The huge stage had lights and speakers attached in every crack. There was a balcony above me, filled with people, it wrapped around the room and ended at the top of the stage.
"Helllllloooooooo, Seniors of Fowlerville High school!" An overly perky woman yelled into a microphone from the stage. She was small, skinny, and a brunette. By the reactions of people around me, I could tell she wasn't the most liked teacher. "I'm, as you all know, Mrs. Smith! I had most of you in 8th grade! ha-ha-ha! You guys are so old now." I didn't even know this woman and she was starting to give me a headache with her high voice.
"This is your senior year poetry slam!" She continued. "This is exactly like in 8th grade, but we have to refresh some rules." She went on and on about judges, and score creep, and not to talk when others are. Did Sapphire have to deal with her everyday? After really long instructions, she threw her arm up and introduced the first person on to stage. He came up, read a poem, sat down. Then the next girl did the same.
I watched all these people come up on stage, read, then go and sit down again. How many seniors are there?! When finally, Mrs. Smith yelled, "And finally, the blonde beauty straight from Los Angeles, California.......Sapphire Bold!!"
Sapphire pushed the boy she was with off of her and made her way to the stage. She took the microphone from Mrs. Smith and took a deep breath, before reading her poem.
"He looked me in the eye, and told every lie. How he loved me. I should have known. He would just deceive me. Our so called love, had grown. He kissed me on the lips, I should have got the tip, that he would leave. The blonde devil took over me."
