*Demi's Pov*

I stood there, obnoxious of what to do, the heartless, rhythmic cracks of the whip faded, and soon after, Tina came walking down the stairs, followed by a small girl, whom I assumed was Jessie. She was clutching a small case, more like a backpack, and nothing else. Whilst walking down the stairs, Jessie was shaking and murmuring "Be good, be good." Tina arrived at the bottom of the stairs, "Sorry about that!" She cheered, interrupting my thoughts, "One of our children was watching a horror movie!" I nodded as she handed Jessie over to me.

We walked out the care home, and into the car, Jessie stumbled in the back, still clutching her suitcase close to her chest. I jumped into the front, looking through the mirror to check on her, she was staring back at the house and Tina looked to be saying something to her that I could not understand, "Ready?" I asked once Tina had gone indoors, "Yes." She replied.

*Jessie's POV*

"Hey Jessie, I'm Demi! How are you?" She cheered, "Good, thank you ma'am." I replied, trying to sound polite, "Now, you don't have to call me ma'am, call me Demi or Dems now, okay?" She mentioned, looking into the back, I glanced down, ashamed, "Yes, sorry ma'am... Demi!" I quickly corrected.

"Honey, there's no need to me sorry! I know you'll need to settle in, so take your time, okay?" She laughed lightly, "Okay.." I replied, I knew she was putting on a 'happy' diguise, only to hit me when we got back.

We sat in a comfortable silence until we arrived at her mansion, it was massive! She got out and walked around to open my door, I stepped out and closed the door behind me, still keeping my bag close to my chest, it had all my things I couldn't tell anyone about in, my blades, my journal, my eating diary, etc. Demi put her arms around me, I flinched back, thinking she was going to hit me, "Sorry, Jessie!" She apoligized, "I didn't realize!" I nodded, turning back to the house, she showed me in, and around the house, by the time we arrived at my room, my feet were aching, it was even bigger than it looked!
