Chapter Five-One and the Same

*Demi's POV*

"Well what?" Selena questioned, "Well, I've adopted this girl, she's called Jessie.." I paused, thinking, "Aw, that's sweet!" Selena was pressing me for more answers, "Yeah, she is really sweet, but she only has one bag, and a small one at that.. I would love to take her out shopping but she's really shy and won't come out her room!" Selena remained silent, listening to me explain my worries about Jessie. We sat, talking about what to do, until I had to depart. "Hey, um, I'm really sorry, but I told Jessie I would be back in 30 minutes!" I explained, unwilling to let my best friend go. "No, no, it's fine, I'll text you, yeah?" We agreed on texting and I walked home quickly, hoping not to be late. I'm so lucky that the paps weren't anywhere around- otherwise I would be even MORE late!

I arrived back home, and heard Jessie walking around her room, so I grabbed a bottle of wine-one that wouldn't get me drunk, and sat down by the TV. I casually shrunk into the sofa and had a sudden thought-Jessie's dinner! I held the bottle of wine un one hand and cupped my right hand in order to shout louder, "Jessie! Can you come down here please?" I asked her.

*Jessie's POV*

I quickly put on some make-up onto my face, covering the scars Tina had made using the whip, and ran down the stairs towards the lounge, but I paused at the doorway, I get it... Demi was drunk and called me down to beat me! That explains it, she was clutching a half-empty bottle of wine. I stood there, not knowing what to do, she hadn't seen me yet, she was too busy sitting down and watching telly to notice me. I slowly crept in.. "Hey!" She greeted, "Hi, Demi." I cautiously replied, closing my eyes, waiting for the familiar pain to arise in my cheeks. "Open your eyes, hun!" She asked, when I managed to prize them open, she had cute puppy dog eyes, she was begging me to open them! "Now..." Her voice faded away, I could smell the wine dripping like venom off her breath, she raised her hand and...
