I woke up startled the next morning. I couldn't even remember what I'd dreamed about, but I hadn't liked it. Pepper who had also just woken up looked concerned. "Mom what's wrong?" He asked tilting his head curiously. "I just had a bad dream that's all" I told him quietly. He didn't need to know about the events of the night before, he was to young to have to deal with that. I got up wincing as I stood up my side still hurting. I hated being this weak, if something were to attack us I'd be the first to die. I suddenly heard shouting and looked over to see Silverblaze and Sunny yelling at each other. I slowly made my way over to Silverblaze's side. "You can't just kick us out into the freezing cold! The foals will die!" Sunny yelled. "Sunny, you need to leave this just won't work! Half of the foals in my herd are terrified of the horses in your herd! Sunny, even your own son is afraid of you right now!" Silverblaze yelled at her. She took a step back clearly hurt by what he said. This was the first time I'd seen her look anything but angry towards us. She then decided to speak again more quietly "I will not leave" she said firmly. Silverblaze sighed. "Fine, but tell your stallion if he goes anywhere near my herd we'll have a problem" he said fiercely. "Fine" Sunny said. She turned and walked back to her herd. "You're letting them stay?" I said confused. He sighed and explained "I know Sunny, when her mind is set it's hard to change. She wasn't going to leave and probably would've fought me if it had escalated any further" I nodded understanding. Suddenly Pepper nudged my leg. "I'm hungry" he said. I really didn't want to head anywhere outside right now and looked around quickly finding my good friend, Winter. "Winter!" I called out. She came trotting over. "What is it?" she asked. I quickly explained that I was injured and didn't want to go outside and asked to take Pepper out to get some grass. "Sure, I was going to eat anyway" she told me. She took Pepper outside. I knew I couldn't keep being afraid forever, I had to eat as well. I hadn't eaten anything since I was attacked and even though I was starving I was afraid to go outside. I decided I would go out later, when Pepper wouldn't want to come with me. It was a stupid fear anyway, I couldn't seriously be afraid of going outside. I think I was more afraid of something happening again then the actual idea of going out there. I turned and walked back over to where I usually slept deciding to lay down hoping to ease the pain in my side.
