"I'm sorry" I told Sundancer. "I didn't mean for him to not know about you" I sighed. How do I explain this? "When he heard everyone yelling the day you left he was terrified. I didn't want to tell him his mother had been forced to leave so I simply comforted him. Since he was young his memory was short and he basically came to believe I was his mother. I didn't have the heart to tell him the truth, he's young and it would only hurt him". I barely knew what I was just saying. I'd spilled everything. Sundancer looked at me and for the first time she didn't look like she hated me. I could see sorrow in her eyes. "I'm sorry too" she said in barely a whisper. "I never asked for you to explain I just assumed everything. I assumed you were just a bad horse, I overreacted to everything". "I promise you I'll tell Pepper about you, I just need to wait until he's old enough to handle it" I told her "and I'll make sure he knows you would've been an amazing mom if you were given the chance". I could tell that meant a lot to her. "Sundancer-" I started but she cut me off. "Please" she said quietly "call me Sunny". I knew she got mad if anyone but her close friends called her that. "Sunny, do you think we'll be able to get back to our herds?" I asked her. I really didn't want to be stuck with Thunder and Darkstar my entire life. I was afraid to know what either would be like as a lead stallion in a herd. "I think we'll get back to them" she said confidently. That reassured me and I had the feeling it was meant to. I didn't question whether she actually felt that way or not. I quickly realized I was starving. They didn't seem to have any intention of feeding us though. Maybe because they knew we'd be weaker if we were starving. I didn't know why they bothered doing it with me in that case, this whole kidnapping has made me realize just how weak I am. I was to afraid to fight back, but Sunny was determined to. She only gave in when they threatened someone close to her and even the strongest of horses would in that situation. I sighed and laid down on the floor conserving my energy so I wouldn't get as hungry. I hadn't had water for almost 24 hours and I felt a bit dizzy from being dehydrated. I was oddly tired too. Even though she tried not to show it I could tell Sunny felt the same way. Eventually she gave in and laid down as well. I closed my eyes and attempted to sleep again simply trying to pass the time until something happened.
