I couldn't believe that Silverblaze just left. Leave it to him to screw things up. We marched back in like little soldiers. I belonged to Thunder now and Sunpearl belonged to Darkstar. Everyone was petrified and before Sunpearl was a leader, I was the leader so I felt like the pressure was on me. I was still pretty beat up though. I walked to a corner of the cave where Lizzie was. She seemed so scared. Even Sienna who was normally brave and outgoing seemed nervous.
"Mommy I'm really scared."
Lizzie looked up at me. She was even trembling and I layed down beside her, allowing her to curl up against me.
"Just do whatever they tell you to do. If either one of them bother you though, come to me." I whispered to my filly so that only she could hear and she nodded.
I could tell she was still terrified.
"Hey, Liz look at me." I lovingly whispered to her.
"It'll all be okay. Don't worry." I nuzzled her gently and she seemed to calm down a little bit. She gently fell asleep and I stayed awake watching her. Sienna came over by me.
"I can't believe we are stuck with this goon." She sighed and laughed a little at her remark.
"I honestly don't know what Silverblaze was thinking. Sunpearl said that he had a plan but being the coward he is, he probably left so he could stay alive." I tried to stay quiet so no one could hear me.
"Yeah." Sienna responded back and layed down across from me as she tried to find the sensation of sleep. There was no way I was sleeping. I was cold, tired, hungry, and exhausted. I heard screaming from the back of the cave. It was Sunpearl.
"Stop! Don't hurt him!" She had desperate screams. I didn't know what was happening.
"Lizzie I'll be right back." I whispered to my daughter and went to find Sunpearl. I heard faint sobs as I found her. She was huddled over a body. It was Pepper.
"Pepper!" I ran to his side. He was pretty beaten up.
"What happened?" I looked at Sunpearl who also looked pretty violated.
"Darkstar told me that Pepper was old enough to leave and when I said no, he tried killing him." She stopped and sobbed for a moment.
"If he doesn't leave in the morning then Darkstar threatened to crush his skull." My heart broke. That was horrible. Maybe there was someone he could take with him. Someone that wouldn't be noticed. I had a feeling that there was more to the story than I was being told. Sunpearl looked pretty ruffled up.
"Sunpearl, look at me." I glanced at Sunpearl as she shifted uneasily.
"What happened to you? I know you didn't get this beaten up by being upset... tell me. What happened?" I looked directly in her eyes letting her know that she could trust me.
"Um.-" she stopped and I continued to urge her forward.
"Darkstar used me, because he claimed he loved me and I think I'm pregnant. With his foal."
