Chapter 113: Elemental Rematch

    It was early that next day, and the battle has taken to new heights as the lake has been frozen and has become the new battleground. The Enam, Torvald and League of Angels fight dead center at the ruins of Lake Town as Link and Vanitas fight each other overhead.

   At Erebor, Arno and Ryuga continue to look outside as they watch the battle before their eyes. "I will be honest when I say this, but this sight is well, awesome." Arno said to Ryuga, who was relaxing on the ground. "Of course, you were always on the front lines stabbing and shooting at your enemies. As for me and my father, we usually observe from far away, seeing history unfold before our eyes. But I was never this close before." Ryuga replied. Arno looked down at Ryuga, "May I ask as to how you and your father got along together? If it's alright I mean." Arno had asked him. Ryuga peered off, "I would love to tell you, but now wouldn't be the necessary time to do so. We are to keep watch after all." Ryuga replied. "It's okay. (Looks back at the battle, and feels the presence of Matt) Matt!? He is here!" Arno said in happiness. "I won't stop you if you want to see your brother on the battlefield, I can get my daughter to take your place by my side." Ryuga explained. Arno took out his pistols and ran down towards the battle. Ryuga stood up and walked back inside Erebor.

     Down by the frozen lake, the League is overrun by the forces of Darkus and Torvald. But we pay our attention onto Matt, who was using his air Elemental powers on enemy soldiers that were beginning to surround him. "Air Wave!" He shouted as he swung Windsplitter in a sideways motion, creating a high speed force blast away his enemies backwards. He then splits the swords into his dual blade position, slashing away at the Whispermen and the Undead. One by one, fall to his blades. Then, a wave of water comes crashing in front of Matt, taking down a couple of the enemies. He turns around and he gets a smile on his face, "Well I wondered when you would show up." Matt shouted to his brother, who was riding a wave through some of the enemies that were surrounding Matt. Arno jumped off the wave and swung his hand around to where the wave dissipated back to snow. "Don't forget that brothers always stay together no matter what." Arno replied. "Indeed. We can play catch up later, we gotta beat these guys!" Matt said in a pumped up tone.  Arno and his brother shook each other's hands and then were suddenly transported away from the battle. 

    Where they had reappeared was in a small alcove away from the battleground, near some trees and a small pond. "Okay, being teleported away from the battle isn't always a good thing. did you do this Arno?" Matt had asked his brother, who was also very confused as to what had happened. "I am in the dark like you bro, someone else did this. (Grips hold of sword) And i think i may know who exactly is the cause of it. (Turns around and points his sword at a familiar man) Isn't that right, Caius Ballad?" Arno had stated, and Matt got a bit flustered to when he said that. Caius clapped his hands and walked forward to the two elemental brothers. "You had told me before if you ever wanted to fight again, and i also do recall saying that i would gladly accept that challenge of yours. Now is that very time, for this land is already in turmoil of being ripped apart. It wouldn't hurt to cause even more hell on the land with our duel." Caius had replied to him. "You mean to say that you rearranged a rematch between us and Caius? (Arno nods his head in agreement) Good idea." Matt stated as he got into a battle position, and Arno did as well. Caius grabbed the handle of his large blade, and aimed it towards the two. "Then lets go for a Round 2, shall we?" Caius said with a devilish smirk on his face. The rematch has begun. 

Matt and Arno Strife VS. Caius Ballad, The Servant of TIme

    The fight begins with Caius making the first attack, he charges ahead at the two brothers with his sword held up high. Matt and Arno both dodge the attack by evading in two different directions, just as Caius slams his sword onto the ground. He then looks around to see who he should make his next attack on. "(Thinking: Hmm, I could go for the one with Air powers first, since his magic is a lot more dangerous. But then again, I could go after the weakest link, which is Arno.)" Caius had thought, then he picked up his sword and went straight after Matt. Matt stayed in his defensive stance, just as Caius was about to attack him. The two eventually collided sword and went into a clash, with Caius applying more force onto Matt's dual Katana's. "(Grunting) You sure are putting alot of your power into this fight, eh Caius?" Matt said to him, to throw off Caius' guard. "You and I both know that our fight back in Fiore was never completed! I am just doing what I must in order to regain my honor!" Caius replied as he broke the clash and kicked Matt in the gut. Arno saw this as a moment to intervene, so he channeled up his magical powers and the pond behind him had begun to ripple. Back to the fight, Matt regained his balance and sideswiped his kick under Caius' feet, making him drop to the ground. Matt then slammed his Katana's down on Caius, but he deflected the attack just before they could hit him. Both of them were applying all of their strength into the attacks. Caius then rolled to the right, he swung his sword upward to injure Matt's left arm in the process. "ARGH!!!!" Matt yelled in pain as he stepped backward, and Caius rose back up from the ground. "That is what you don't realize, Commander. You are to proud of yourself thinking that you can do everything to protect your younger brother! But look, you cant even protect yourself from any harm whatsoever!" Caius shouted. Then Arno shouted, "Hey Bitchass!! (Caius turns around) Never insult my brother!!!" Arno pushed his arms forward, releasing a large wave of water from the pond, towards Caius. The Servant of Time quickly casts a shield around himself to try and deflect the powerful wave, but the wave destroys the shield and crashed onto Caius. Matt regained his balance and saw what was going on before his eyes, Arno's eyes were glowing blue and he was continuously using his water elemental magic on Caius, almost to the point of drowning him. "Arno!! You can stop now!! We won the battle, you can stop!" Matt had yelled. Arno seemed to not have heard what his brother was yelling at him. 

      Then out of nowhere, a large bolt of lightning shot down from the sky right down on the wave that seemed to have no end, and ended it. Arno was knocked back to normal and he fell to the ground, and Matt ran over to his side. "(shaking his body) Arno, come on! Wake up!" Matt cried. Caius then began to move again, he forced himself to stand up. "It seems your brother has hidden power after all. (Coughs up water, mixed with blood) The victory goes to you, however it seems that someone else is here. That lightning bolt had come from someone else." Caius had stated. Arno had woken up, and saw his brother over him. "I need to learn on how to control this power more." He said to Matt. "Yes, we both do." Matt replied. Arno then looked at his brother's broken arm. "I can fix that. (He swirls the water around with his finger tips,  and applied it to Matt's arm. it began to glow, and then it stopped.) There ya go, its healed." Arno said with a smile on his face. Matt moved around his left arm and was no longer feeling pain from it. "It seems that we have a second healer in our group now. (Laughs) Let's get you back up from the ground." Matt said as he helped Arno stand up, and Arno looks at Caius. "What are you looking at Caius? I thought we were the only ones.. (Sees a hooded man with a girl standing beside him) ..here?" Arno said in confusion. Caius lays down his blade, and bows before the hooded man. "I never expected that you, would be here. But then again, I can see as to why." Caius said. The hooded man takes off his hood, and speaks. "No worries, Caius Ballad of Time. I have had my eyes on what your master has done for these past 52 years, he has caused enough trouble. (Looks at the two brothers) Ah yes, just the two people i have need to speak with. I am the Tempest, Guardian of the Immortal Balance. We have something to discuss regarding your friend, Link." The man had introduced himself. Both Matt and Arno were confused, but Matt spoke anyway. "Why?" He asked the Tempest. "Its because soon he is about to unleash his true power against the one called 'Vanitas'. It will only take a moment of your time is all. (Looks at his daughter) My young Elise, could you please return to the palace? This is adult business." Tempest explained. "Yes, Father. (Looks at Matt and blows a kiss) See ya again, cutie!" Elise said as she vanished, and Matt blushed. Arno looked at him, and nudged him. "I think someone else has a crush on you." Arno said and Matt pushed him off in a playful way. "Tell us what you need to say Tempest, we are kind of on a time table." Matt had asked him. Tempest walked towards them and began to discuss something of urgent importance with them. As for Caius, he vanished as well. "The Champion of the Gods is about to unleash his inner potential, as i had said previously. I have knowledge of this power,its just that i am unable to say this to you. It will defer the course of history greatly." Tempest began to say. "Why would our knowledge of it change history?" Arno asked him in a curious tone. "Because said power is something that Link won't necessarily want to have. It has caused him pain before in the past, but it will also help turn the tide in this battle of Middle-Earth. Like it or not, believe what you will. But i know what i am doing, for i have watched the balance of Good and evil for far to long. My words are set in stone, and that's why you must steer clear of that battle that Vanitas and Link will be soon getting into. So says I, Ordain Belleren. The Tempest." After he finished explaining, he vanishes from the small alcove within a large lightning bolt. "What power does Link have inside him, that could cause him not to want it? (Looks at Arno) Do you have anything in mind that could be what he was referring to?" Matt asked his brother, who was in middle of a big thought. "I think i may know, which means we gotta head back to the lake as fast as possible!" Arno stated. "Then lets go!" Matt and Arno ran off back to the battleground after that odd talk with the Tempest, Ordain Belleren. Who is he? Why does he share the same last name as Timore? Could he be telling the truth about this power residing within Link? Stay tuned.
