Chapter 39: Attacking the Cube

Whilst the battles of Tartaros have begun in Middle-Earth, Fiore as well is about to have another war. Vermilion, David, Serena and there troops prepare for an assault on the Cube. They just must await for the Shinobi troops to arrive from the Hidden Cloud.

At the underground resistance headquarters, Vermilion has a talk with David. "So David my friend, today is the day we begin our assault on the Cube. Have you had any luck with getting in touch with your pals in the Shinobi Alliance?" Vermilion asked him. "Well besides last night, no. They said that they should arrive by noon and right now its only 11:40 in the morning. (Looks at Vermilion) So as of right now we have to deal with the forces that we have currently." David replied. Vermilion paced back and forth along the war room and Mavis pops up again. "Vermilion, I believe that we need to strike now. Who knows how much stronger Tartaros could get if we just sit here and wait. For I fear that we are too late already as is." Mavis had stated. David looked at her in confusion, "What is it that you mean 1st Master?" Mavis turns around to face David, "Tartaros has already sent some of there forces to Middle-Earth, where I believe our old friends are currently. We can't afford to wait any longer if more attacks happen." Mavis explained. Vermilion then stopped pacing back and forth and slammed his hand down on the table, "(Thud) That's it! I have had it with Tartaros! (Looks at David) Get Serena and rally the troops! We are attacking there headquarters immediately!" He shouts as it echoed the whole room. "Got it sir! (Looks at Mavis) Come, we must get everyone together." David said to Mavis as he walks away from Vermilion. Mavis poofs away and Vermilion looks down at the map of Fiore. "Fiore is my homeland, and I won't stand here any longer to see it being occupied by creatures of Evil! (Communicator beeps) Huh? Someone is calling at the wrong time." Vermilion walks on over to the communication panel and clicks the button, a hologram of Necromancer appears. "Hello Vermilion, I thought I could check in on your status. What's the news?" Nec asked him. "Ah Necromancer, well to be honest the news may be a bit bad and a bit of good as well. You see right now we are about to take the fight to the Cube and take down Tartaros for good!" Vermilion explained. "That's good news I imagine. But what of the bad news?" Nec asked him in a curious tone. "Tartaros has already sent a couple of there forces to Middle-Earth. I believe to stop our people that are currently there, and by stop I think it's to kill them." Vermilion had mentioned. Nec then grew weary, "This isn't good at all. Right now Link is just training on his firearm skills, I will be sure to let him know eventually. Have faith Vermilion, you and your team can get this done no matter the impossible task it is." Nec stated. "Thank you Necromancer. Send Link my regards. Vermilion signing off." Vermilion turns off the communicator and then walks out of the war room.

11:45am

Above the underground base, in the ruins of De Magna Helden, David and Serena are looking at the ruins of Magnolia. "At night there was barely a single light, and now at dawn its a horrible sight to witness." Serena mentioned. David puts his arm around her, and comforts her. "Don't worry Serena, soon Tartaros will be crying like babies when he kick their arses back to whence they came. (Looks at Serena and kisses her cheek) Then maybe afterwards we can go for a drink?" David asked her, who was smiling by him mentioning a drink. "Even when things are down you mention about getting a drink. (Laughs) Lets just hope that you survive this fight handsome, then we can have that drink." Serena said as she fixed up David's tie. Then Vermilion shows up behind the two, "(Coughs, they turn around) You two ready to retake back Fiore?" He said to them. "Why of course we are. Just waiting for you old coot. (Laughs)" David had laughed. "Well then lets get going shall we? The Cube is floating a couple miles above the ruins of the Fairy Tail Guild Hall, with a massive army marching around right underneath it. So yes it will be quite a challenge to face." Vermilion had stated. "Ooh, I like challenges! You lead the way Vermilion!" Serena said in excitement. Vermilion banged his staff on the ground and walked ahead into the ruins of Magnolia town with David and Serena following him. The rest of the surviving members of De Magna Helden also joined in with the march, for they headed towards Fairy Tail's graveyard.
