Chapter 4: The Hands of Death

Beyond Middle-Earth we return to the Nightmare King, Darkus Azu Tex and his group of dark beings that include: Zeref Dragneel, Sint Bulsa the Immortal and Scourge the Harbinger. In Darkus's study, he begins to write down some stuff regarding his next plan of action. "It's been two months since the last time I have shown my face to those League brats. (Sighs) This calls for something evil to do." Darkus gets up from his desk and walks over to his window, overlooking the Dark seas surrounding his castle. A knock had came to the door, "(Knock, knock) The door is open!" Darkus shouted. The door opened and in came Zeref. "Father, your new asset has arrived from Albion. Would you like me to bring him up?" He asked. "No, but thank you anyway my son. I shall see him personally." Darkus walked past his son, who followed him out of the room.

9:37am

In the main lobby of castle Darkvaria, Darkus sees his asset and Scourge awaiting by the main doors. "What news do you have for me?" Darkus asked his asset. "Everything is in place my Lord. Soon the darkness will creep back into that kingdom once again." Said his servant. "Perfect, you may go back to your post. (Servant leaves, and looks at Scourge) Where the hell have you been?" Darkus then asked Scourge. "I had took a visit to our enemy's stronghold yet again. To reclaim what was mine." Scourge answered. "Was this the dinosaur experiments I had told you to take?" Darkus said puzzled. Scourge held out in his hands two vials, "The T-1 and P-2 vials that hold the DNA of reptiles from long in the past. The Divine had left them lie in dust while he was dead." He explained. "Ah yes, I forgot that Link had killed the Divine. But all he did was just make him stronger. Wait, how was it that you had gotten into his palace?" Darkus then asked, intrigued. "I simply took his keys shortly before his body had turned into paper. Then again, the God of Destruction can't keep everything out of his castle." Scrounge had stated. Darkus eyed Scourge suspiciously but still continued with the conversation. "Now how can we get these two vials vamped up into your 'children' as you put it." Darkus asked. "I just need some time. But soon, these will become my guards and family. Although I am missing a key ingredient. And the Mummy knows what it is." Scourge said. Darkus turned around and saw Sint standing there. "Morning Darkus and Scourge. You called for me?" He asked, unaware of the conversation. "What type of ingredient do we need in order to make these vials of reptile DNA come to life?" Darkus said. Sint pondered in thought, and remembered. "Ah yes! You need the Nechronomicom. Volume 3 to be exact." He said. Then Scourge began to speak, "I need that Volume in order to bring these vials to life. Do you happen to know anything about it?" Scourge asked. "I do. (Everyone looks over to him) I wrote it after all." Zeref said. "Enlighten us, my son. Where is it?" Darkus asked. "It was stolen, by a master thief long ago. I don't need the book itself for I remember every spell in those books. Hand over the vials and it shall be done." Zeref explained. Scourge gave the two vials to Zeref. The three stood back and watched as Dark magic flowed into both vials, which floated out if Zeref's hands and into the air. Once the Dark energy was completely absorbed into each vial, they exploded in purple mist. Once the mist cleared two beings appeared. One with greyish wings and a female appearance. The other had long black wings, male appearance and a purple aura surrounding him. "Darkus Azu Tex, I would like to introduce you to my children. T-1 Thanatos, and P-2 Persephone. My Hands of Death!" Scourge had introduced. Darkus looked at them, and was in awe. "This power, its glorious! It looks like Alex sure knows how to use genetic mutation after all." He said. "Shall we put these two on a test run?" Sint had suggested. "I don't mind. Why don't we use them on the Divine? Or that Dark Abyss people that have been causing trouble." Zeref mentioned. Darkus paced back and forth then had gotten an idea. "(Lightbulb) I think I know a perfect group to test your Hands of Death on. (Laughs evilly)" Darkus laughed. "And who may that be?" Sint asked. Darkus walked towards Thanatos and Persephone, "T-1 and P-2, you are to travel to Middle-Earth. Find and eliminate the one they call Link of Hyrule. Don't return until he breathes no more!" Darkus ordered. Thanatos looked up at Darkus's eyes. "It shall be done, Nightmare King." Thanatos and Persephone vanished from the room. "So then this is how our reign begins? With the Hands of Death." Scourge said. Then another person entered the room. "Then the Gates of Tartaros shall open onto this world of Light. Isn't that correct, Master Darkus?" The voice said. Darkus walked over to the person, who was a slight young adult. "Yes, my Vanitas. It is almost upon us! Soon the Enam Esseri Oscuri shall be complete!!" Darkus shouted, which his laughs had echoed throughout his castle. Even down below into his dungeons, where Roxas is still. "(Hears echoes of laughs) Damn he can't stop gloating about his evil plans. (Sighs) I gotta get outta here, fast." He said, as he curled up in the prison bed. What will happen next? But what has become of our Team 2 in Ivalice first off?
