-Louis's POV-
"Damn, it's freezing in here." Alex mumbled as she tried to get warm under the little blanket I found. "Why do we have one blanket in this whole entire apartment? It's December!"
"You could get the duvet off the bed." I suggested. She sprang up from the couch and ran to the bedroom. She son returned with the duvet. Jesse and Chandler are supposed to be here soon and we're cold.
"Well, this isn't fair." I complained. "I'm cold now."
"Go put a shirt on for starters." She suggested.
"Psh, you know you don't want me to put a shirt on." I scoffed. Not trying to be cocky, but I work out. She isn't very subtle about staring.
"Fine then. You can freeze. I don't care." She shrugged.
"Fine, I'll go put a stupid shirt on." I huffed and went to the bedroom. I saw a shirt on the floor and picked it up. Was this the one she slept in last night? The pair of boxers I gave her to sleep in were next to it. I put them both in one of her drawers in the dresser.
I put on a t-shirt and messed with my hair a little bit. We're probably gonna sit at home all day. No need to get dressed up.
I love having a girl like Alex. She's perfect, but not too perfect. Does that make sense? She's absolutely amazing in every single way. She has a great sense of humor thankfully. I couldn't imagine spending my life with someone who didn't. She can laugh at herself easily. When we get in fights, she just shrugs it off.
I was with Eleanor before we found out about this marriage. Every time Eleanor and I got in a fight, she would drag it out for days. I dated her for probably three months. She ran up my credit card bill on shoes and spa days. I just couldn't deal with anymore of it, so I broke up with her.
(NO HATE TO ELEANOR! I LOVE HER SO SO SO SO SO MUCH AND ELOUNOR IS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE COUPLE I SHIP THEM SO HARD. IT'S JUST FOR THE STORY!)
Four days later I find out I'm engaged. I was pissed off about it at first. That night, I looked at Alex's Facebook, Twitter, and Vine. Yes, I creeped on her. She had no slutty pictures, no drunk videos, and no boyfriends at all on her social networks. The more I looked at her profiles, the more I realized that this marriage was maybe for the best. And as I got to know her even more, I fell more and more in love with her. So I proposed, even though we're already engaged. I wanted her to know that I love her. I proposed because I love her. That's the truth. I don't know if she loves me. I think she does. I'm not sure. She's never said it to me.
She's so much better than Eleanor. If we were going to the grocery store, Eleanor had to get all dressed up and put makeup on. Alex wears hardly any makeup and doesn't care what she's wearing when she leaves home. If we were staying home all day, Eleanor would do her hair and put makeup on. Alex ties her hair up and doesn't even think about makeup. I find it funny at how opposite they are. I found Eleanor on my own. My Mum found Alex. Maybe Mum really does always know best.
Alex's car wreck scared me to death. I've never been that scared in my entire life.
*Flashback*
Alex called me and hung up before I could answer. I called back three times and texted her probably twenty times until I realized something was really wrong. I was on my way to her house, when there was a long line of traffic because of a bad wreck. I got out of my car and ran to the yellow caution tape that blocked the scene. I could see three vehicles all slammed into a yellow Corvette. I instantly recognized the car. Several people were prying open the door on the drivers side. I tore through the rope and tried to get to her car. Police officers held me back.
"That's my girlfriend! My fiancé!" I repeated yelled at them.
"Sir, calm down!" The officer tried to tell me.
"Don't tell me to fucking calm down!" I said and broke away from his grip and ran to the place where they rested Alex on the ground.
I kneeled down next to her. "Alex, please." I whispered. "Please be okay."
Her blue eyes slightly opened. They closed again and her body went completely limp.
"No, baby, please wake up." I kept begging her. "Please, Alex!"
"She's unconscious! Get her to the hospital, stat!" A paramedic yelled. They took her body from me and put her on the gurney.
"Can I go with you, please?! I'm here fiancé!" I asked the EMT. He nodded and gestured for me to get in the back of the ambulance. I pulled out my phone and called her step mum. Then I called my Mum. Next Jesse, Chandler, and Harry. He told the rest of the boys.
"She's breathing good." The EMT told me. He was trying to stop the bleeding in her arm. "Probably some head trauma or broken ribs."
"Will she be okay?" I asked, almost in tears.
"I think so." He nodded, checking for a pulse once again. I held her hand the whole way to the hospital, saying silent prayers in my head.
*Flashback Over*
"Louis?" Alex interrupted my emotional flashback. "Admiring yourself in the mirror?" She smirked.
"Sorry, I can't help it. I'm just so fine." I chuckled.
"You're too cocky for your own good." She laughed adorably. Her laugh... God, it's adorable. I love everything about her.
"Are your ribs okay?" I asked, remembering that they were broken.
"They're starting to hurt me. I came to get painkillers." She replied. I went in the bathroom and got them for her. I handed her two pills. She took them and drank some of the water in the bottle she brought.
"And your head is okay?" I inquired. She nodded. "Arm?"
"Yes, mother." She replied sarcastically.
"Most romantic couple award goes to..." A new voice trailed off. We looked and saw Jesse and Chandler in the doorway. Jesse was the one that said that.
"Oh, that's really cool. Just bust up in my house. I don't mind." Alex scoffed.
"You didn't lock the door, dipshit." Chandler laughed. "Whoa, nice room. Whose room is this?"
"Uhm, ours." Alex replied.
"Sharing a room already? Gosh, you two move quickly." Jesse laughed.
"We don't need any babies to raise right now. Wait a couple months for that." Chandler advised.
