"Aditi tomorrow is Vinnie's birthday if you remember!" exclaims mom while serving dinner on the dining table. And to be honest, I was totally unaware of this.

"Oh yes mom, thanks for reminding. Should I gift something to her this time?" I ask while narrowing my eyebrows.

"Of course you should. She has invited you in her birthday party tomorrow evening" she says.

"Really? Woah that's nice" I reply in surprise. Usually she doesn't invite me for her birthday or any other parties that's why I asked wondrously.

"Hey mom. I am back" says Aarav while removing shoes at the entrance door.

"Hi Aarav. Come on the table fast. The dinner is ready" says mom.

I see him continuously staring at me as if I have done a crime. I am pretty much sure that he has definitely seen me in the restaurant with Daksh. God knows what is he going to say now!

"Mom you know what?.."

My heart skips a beat as my brother begins to speak while munching his food. I am seriously sweating.

"...Today my sir appreciated me for my descent behavior at my work" says Aarav while putting rice in his plate.

"Oh this is so nice of him. I am proud of you son" says Mom to him by patting him on his back in a happy tone.

"Aditi..." he turns to me and begins "...you were in my restaurant today?". He asks and waits for my answer.

My heart starts beating as fast as it can. "N-No. Wh-Why do you think that?". I stammer while asking.

"I just thought that I saw you. Never mind" he says and starts munching his food again.

Thank God!

"Good night everyone!" I say as I prepare to leave.

"Good night Aditi" everyone says in unison.

"Hey Aditi! I hope you have brought my notebook without fail today?" asks Shikha worriedly.

"Yes of course. Let me check my bag once again" I reply to her.

I had taken her notebook to complete my notes of the chapters I missed before joining the college.

I put my hand inside to take out her notebook. Omg! I again forgot to bring it. I had kept that on my study table but forgot to put that inside my bag.

"Aditi how long are you going to take? The lecture is within one hour and you know today is the last date for correction" says Shikha impatiently.

"I-I am really sorry Shikha. I forgot to bring your notebook!" I exclaim sadly.

"Don't tell me this. What will I do now? Sir will really kill me" she speaks in a voice louder than her normal.

Now I have no other option to bring her notebook other than going back home and bring it back. But my home is too far to do this task in just an hour. By going in bus, it will take at least one hour and twenty minutes of up and down from college to home and back to college.

"Shikha don't worry. I will go back home and bring back your notebook. I promise" I say to console her. I myself don't know why I said it when I know this is not possible.
