I think he will love it. This is not something on which I have spent money because it is not a material thing. This is just a view that I want to show him. Today only I read in the newspaper that tonight is the most special day and it is taking place after thousands of years. And when he told me that we are going for a dinner cruise, I decided that I will show this to him at that time only.
Stargazing. Yes, what can be more beautiful than this? Stargazing is the most wonderful experience and it involves spending time outside at night. This doesn't always make for a comfortable experience but I guess we can manage tonight.
Vega, the third brightest star, will be visible tonight and personally, this is my favourite star constellation. Its bright blue-white colour is something from which no one can take their eyes off. It is approximately 25 light years away and usually it is not visible in India. But tonight, after so many years, we Indians will also be able to see it and would be able to admire it's beauty.
I look into my watch to see the time when I find that there is only two minutes left for Vega star's appearance. I quickly cover Daksh's eyes with my hands and tell him to not ask any questions.
"Aditi, my patience is breaking" he blurts out but I didn't reply.
As I look up to check, I find a bright appearance right above in the sky. It is the Vega Star and it is so beautiful! I am seriously not able to take my eyes off it. I gently tilt Daksh's head towards the star and finally release my hands from his eyes.
He rubs his eyes and looks carefully above. Between millions of stars, Vega star is shining. I could see his widened eyes and his mouth is completely open in surprise. I observe him looking above and this is probably the best feeling ever.
He then looks down towards me and says "This is the most amazing star I have ever seen and it was truly worth my patience".
"Its name is Vega star and it is my personal favourite. This star symbolizes true love if we watch it with our loved ones" I explain it to him.
He comes forward and wraps me in his arms. "Couldn't thank you more for this sweetheart" he says and kisses me on my forehead.
Oh my god! This is the first time that he has kissed me. Though it was a forehead kiss but I felt really amazing. It is like all the butterflies have started flying inside my stomach.
"Tell me one thing..." he says and I quickly release myself from his arms. He then continues "...why do we call it a love star?" he asks. His face is showing his confusion.
"There is a story behind this. Would you like to hear?" I ask him. I swear I love narrating stories.
"Definitely" he says and I smile.
He takes my hand and sits down on the floor of the ship. I too sit down along with him. This wind is so chilling and the view is amazing with a cherry on the cake because of the stars, especially Vega star.
We then lie on the floor with our hands being crossed beneath our heads. This is the perfect position for stargazing. Without wasting another minute, I clear my throat and begin the story.
"Basically it's a Japanese story. They refer this star to celestial princess or goddess. She had fallen in love with the star named Altair. I hope you are listening" I confirm him.
"Yes Yes" he replies. I guess he is taking very much interest in the story.
"Yeah. But her father got to know about this and he got very enraged. He forbade her to meet him and thus the two lovers are now in the sky, separated with a Celestial River which is known to us as Milky Way galaxy. But the Sky Gods are kind. Japanese believe that on the seventh night of the seventh moon, a bridge of magpies is formed over the Celestial River (Milky Way Galaxy) where the two lovers reunite" I finish it and look to my left to check if he is listening.
